Jonny didn't look to happy at the result tonight, or am I wrong?

Star quality will out. Alex already has Brylcream beating a path to his door, and a bleach company is making the most of his hygiene obsession. Good luck to him. [/b]”

Absolutely. Alex has that elusive - hard to define yet easily recognisable - star quality and marketability. Not just Domestos, but Kingsmill bread have also advertised on the back of Alex with a good-sized advert in The Sun showing picture of Alex quoting him saying last Saturday night (when discussing shopping list) "And the bread that will last longer obviously is things like that Kingsmill stuff".
I suspect that of all the contestants, he will have the most offers - including lucrative ones like the already reported Brylcreem deal - flooding his way.

I would opine that Spencer has, in comparison, limited appeal - thanks to his monosyllabic responses and lack of animation (his 'laidback-ness' unfortunately translating as 'boring' in the real world). Despite reported interest in Spencer from Select model agency, I doubt if he would have a long term future in the fickle modeling industry. Models are required to be versatile in their looks and chameleon-like in front of the camera - Spencer with his baby-face shaved hair look will have limited suitability for clients. I doubt also that he, with his laddish culture and homophobic tendencies, would feel comfortable working in what is largely an effeminate environment.

He has obviously got a poor opinon of our intelligence if he thinks that the majority of BB watchers will vote for mindless antics. Well spotted I missed this, re-ran the video and there it was. I must be getting BB lagged!

As an Alex supporter was just wondering if anyone else enjoyed a lip from the 70's party the other night.

When the music eventually started Alex was in the bedroom getting dressed and Kate came in to look for him. Alex stepped quickly behind the door so Kate just looked in the left, presumable to check out side. as the door closed and reveiled Alex again he was smiling up athe camera and singing along to the track!! lol...

I thought this was especially funny and showed a good aspect of Alex's humour. Anyone else catch it?
”

Yes I did. I also noticed that when Kate and Alex gravitated to each other in the slow dance at the end Jonny just had to get in on the action and it ended up as a group hug. He managed to get rid of the competition with Spencer, he hasn't succeeded in getting rid of Alex. Kate AND Alex to win!!

Cant say I agree. Spencer will do his toothpaste ad and then what ? He has no star quality, simply something the advertisers can latch onto for a "joke" advert.....then what ? What happened to Darren and his chicken appeal ? Alex is already in advertising and long term it is his looks, image and appeal that will out. All this has done is probably expose him a little more widely though no doubt there will be an initial rush to have the guy in adverts. He could improve his long term success in modelling but only if his face is what people are looking for. As for Jade, comic value ? The only comic value she has is that people laugh at her rather than with her. Her biggest drawback is her inability to articulate and advertising wise, the only thing she would really be good for advertising is the need for elocution lessons. Certainly they will have the opportunity to make a bit of money afterwards but long term I doubt if any of them have enough "star quality" to maximise on the opportunities. Which of the original BB "stars" have stayed the distance and managed to make a real success of what opportunities they had ? And don't quote Brian to me as we have yet to see, though he may well prove to be the only one.

Alex's strongest point is he has already worked in the advertising trade but he see's it purely as a job, not a stepping stone to something else.

He doesn't even have huge ambitions in modelling and has shown from past work he is happy to take the oftren better paying catalogue and company work as opposed to the fashion shoots as it's his job and he earns the best wage he can from it before hopefully training in a more long time career such as photography.

I suspect this will make him very attractive (sic) to advertisers who will feel they'll be employing a proper worker who'll be committed to the job with a professional attitude.

Looks while, I've seen quite a few of his model cards and shoots and he has a very verstile look, in fact in some of them you have to look really hard to see its him, and that's what a lot of employers in modelling look for.

Now with flame proof pants at the ready, I don't see Spencer as having that quality as I think his look is in a very narrow spectrum - the sort of boyband/footballer, good looking but ten a penny look in some respects and a look which some may class as 'common'.

Whereas Alex would wear the clothes, the clothes would wear Spencer in a photo shoot and for many shoots that's not what the client wants.
