As much as I have been entertained by Darren, I think for the first time, the wrong dancer has won.

I voted for Colin, but I wouldn't have minded if Zoe won.

I'm very disappointed because at the end of the day, the best dancer didn't win, it was the best personality.

I know what you mean, but I did love Darren and Colin equally but for different reasons. Darren did improve in leaps and bounds and probably is personally responsible for lots of blokes agreeing to sign up for dance classes with their wives ! I'm not sure that the wrong person won, the public vote decides it in the end and we know what we like after all. Colin was technically better but there was something about Darren and Lilia as a dancing couple that made them special

I wouldn't use the term "wrong dancer" but it was inevitable given the format of the show that there would be eventually a controversial (for the want of a better term) winner.

The wrong dancer or the wrong dance? For me, and as the ex partner of a semi-pro dancer I think I know a tjing or two, the final dance scuppered the best dancer's chance. Whilst I'm over the moon that Darren won, Colin is the better dancer and had Erin showed him off with a basic Foxtrot at the end we wouldn't be having this forum thread. having said that though, it was perhaps the best TV for about 20 years...

i thought based on tonights performance the right couple won. All three of their dances were great. Surely some credit has to be given for improvement as well.

It depends what you want from a dancer.

I don't just want technical merit. I want to be entertained and have a smile put on my face.

I was disappointed Colin didnt win but Darren is so popular and has entertained so much which is part of dancing that two worthy couples in final and ONE of them WON SO DANICNG WON YAYAY

I think the dance Erin chose lost them the final, but i'm with them all the way.

Unless the BBC got the vote count completely wrong, I doubt they would make such a bad error and give the competition to the wrong dancer .

Strange I don't remember either Colin or Zoe being professional dancers before this show began.
They looked like it by the series end, Darren didn't.
How come the concensus is that Darren made the most improvement.
Couldn't be the fact that they played on it from Day 1 could it ?

Ahh i was a big colin and Erin fan and i was with them all the way but i was a bit dissapointed with the show dance, it didnt live up to the hype and didnt really show what colin was capable of. I really enjoyed Darren and Lilias show dance and it was save the best for last!

Exactly. darren kept saying how he was 8th in week 1. But that was his only bad week. After that, he kept getting reasonable, consistent good scores. But its all done now. I am still gutted

But yeah, I came into this finale with a open and relaxed heart, telling myself that I would feel happy with whichever couple to win. I like all 3 couples.
To be perfectly honest though, I was leaning a bit more towards Colin and Erin, since Colin was clearly (especially from the last few episodes) a great dancer and maybe even the best dancer of this series. Darren, I have to give credit to him for improving so much and proving so much considering how huge he was and I don't think he has ever danced before. Who would've guessed that Darren Gough would be in the finale of SCD? Props to him.

But I still thought that Colin deserved to win more because he was the best dancer of this series, IMO.

Zoe...I didn't want to see the reaction in this board had she won, although personally I wouldn't mind her winning either.

Had Colin and Erin danced a wonderful last dance, but still lost to Darren and Lilia, I wouldn't have minded.
But here they performed a weird last dance, and left me stunned, too stunned just now to even be happy for Darren and Lilia.

Yes, the wrong dancer did win. Yes, Colin is a better dancer than Darren.

BUT Darren was not an unworthy winner. He was a very good dancer who had shown improvement over the series.

Just think it could have been much worse - Fiona could have won!

Darren was definitely the best dancer in the 'dance off' free style dance.

Let's not forget that the last dance was amazing - what if all that you had seen of SCD had been the last show dances of each couple ? What would be the verdict now ? Darren and Lilia were fabulous, the lifts were wonderful and showed what an amazing couple they have become

Bruno shaking his head when Zoe and Ian came third told me everything. Zoe should have won. Darren improved vastly but was not the best.
