Erm, he is a star at the moment; going to premiers and stuff, on TV every week, people who have never met him talking about him on forums, etc.

He was a binman before so obviously he's a star now. Coming second when he should've been first place, is a star in my estimation.

I like him, and as someone has said above, he is a star at the moment while he has a bit of limelight........ whether or not he can hold it down is the real question

Hold your horses. Where did all these guys start then?
Robbie for example, was almost backing singer for Take That and every credit to him for making it now to superstardom.
Andy's voice is easy better than Robbies's but it's Robbie's attitude more than anything else that's got him where he is. I'm a big Bowie fan, but again it was the chameleon in Bowie that made him what he is......etc etc.

give it a year and we'll see what a star he is. I saw that xmas single The Idols released the year Mcmanus won earlier today. I had difficulty naming anyone other than Michelle and that Scot - Lee bloke.

That is very true, but unfortunately we do not live in a fair society, we live in a hard, greedy, stereotype-loving and incredibly ageist society.
Andy was a TOTAL star tonight - the best performer on the night by a mile; so he can call himself the Pope as far as I'm concerned!!
Interesting that on the Xtra factor, all of the the other contestants were once again saying that Andy is the nicest guy they have ever met.
Any chance we can drop the c**p about him being arrogant since clearly people who have gotten to know him pretty well in recent weeks adore the bloke?
One thing that has been refreshing to night is the fact that FM seem, by and large, to have finally realsied that Andy is a diamond geezer, and I'm really pleased about that!!

I thought he was very humble tonight and he was by far the best singer on the show.
He kind of reminds me of John Legend and with the right songs he could be really sucessful IMO

I have a feeling he'll go the way of Steve, and be a one hit wonder. Ending up in the Easy Listening department of your local ASDA.
Andy seems to be in 'in thing' when it comes to music now. Smooth, swinging beats, vintage. I feel Andy will do a G4 and end up obtaining the larger audience... and he derserves it.
Steve won last year, and Simon thought he has the 'X-Factor', and this year the same has happened. A little strange thats it's his show aswell don't you think...
