The Ratings battle
Does anyone know who won in the ratings battle? SCD or X Factor?

The results aren't out yet, but according to the BBC website they estimate that over 20 million viewers watched either X Faxtor or Strictly CD. Pretty awesome figures these days.
Last year's Strictly Come Dancing final attracted 10.6 million viewers, nearly one million more than The X Factor. |

Read 20m between the both, not seen individual figures.
X factor definitely won with the voting figures, got about double the votes I think (SCD had 5.something million), the power of the teenage girls and the redial button?! |

Also, last year, Sharon didn't have an act in the final, so your conspiracy theory falls a bit flat there. |

If they hadn't of gone head to head then they would of both got more viewers. I'm surprised ITV put X Factor against Strictly C D as if they would of shown it later and not gone against each other they would of definetly got more viewers, surely ITV as a commercial channel shot themselves in the foot
I suppose they won with the amount of votes tho 10.8 million, equals about 3.5 million pounds in revenue. Glad Shayne won, he has the best chance of a long career with the right songs etc. |

Didn't SCD start 10 minutes earlier? That kind of thing can make all the difference...was that the case all through the series, when X-Factor won most of the battles?
Although interest in SCD obviously grew because it was taking over in the last few weeks anyway and their results show beat X-Factor's despite starting later... |

X Factor won't have been helped by ITV scheduling the final for a night so near to Christmas when a vast number of people would have been on Christmas nights out. That's certainly why I missed it.
SCD, on the other hand, has an older audience who are more likely to stay in. |

Plus the SCD phone line money was going to Children in Need rather than lining the pockets of a select few.

It is simple:
SCD beat X Factor in Ratings last night. X Factor beat SCD in votes last night. SCD beat X Factor in Ratings since live shows began. X Factor beat SCD in votes since live shows began. |

SCD starts before X-factor and there are no commercial breaks so it's not as likely people will start switching over when they've already started watching something. X-factor got more votes which is surely more important because it means more money. Both shows did so well though, I can't believe 25million people were at home watching them both!
