Who do you think will have career lastivity - Shayne or Andy?
I think Shayne will do a Michelle McManus personally and flop after a few singles, whilst I can see Andy appealing to an older audience and doing a Ill Divo.
Just my opinion, I'd honestly like both to do well though. |

i can see shayne doing pretty well but it all depends on the material he's given, simon has already said some top writers want to work with him. i dont think the record company knew what to with michelle thats why she flopped. andy might sell albums if there marketed right, but ive got a feeling there just going to give him nat king cole covers which the public wont accept for long.

I didn't realise Michelle McManus managed a few singles before flopping.

Louie puts everything into making his acts a sucsess The general public will get sick of Shayne quick if he does that kinda crap over and over, look at Gates now. |

Assuming Shayne is given decent material (not endless covers) I can see him lasting a while, 5 years or so at least.

Louis clearly cares about his acts and has done a good job managing a bunch of girls who can't sing a note by giving them new and exciting material. Simon knows what sells and it was his idea for Shayne to sing Justin Timberlake which is more than likely to be his direction. He also has Westlife and Il Divo selling worldwide about 5 million albums each so Shayne is in safe hands.

I think they can both have good careers. They're aimed at totally different markets. Shayne will do well in the pop charts, be loved by Smash Hits and the like and probably have 2-3 good years.
Andy will be more likely to sell albums and be aimed squarely at the 30+ more mOR market. I also think JS would do ok for a while. |

Shayne is clearly being marketed as a British Justin Timberlake, but for that to work he will need to be given slightly edgier songs, and not just ballads. He's shown he has versatility and can pull off different styles of music, and he'll need to do that. I think there's a danger of him being another Gareth Gates though if he doesn't break away and do some of his own stuff - if he just follows any cover version and Westlife B-side material he's given, he'll flop badly. It's up to him now - he's been given a push, and he's got to work at it to make sure he gets more than 15 minutes.
Andy will no doubt have a successful career doing the clubs, but as for a mainstream career, I can't see it. But hell, don't take any predictions from me - I had Journey South down to win the thing... |

Much of JTs successwas down to The Neptunes. If Shayne can find songwriters/producers of that standard, he'll do ok, if not, he could end up down the GG route and thats not what he deserves. |

Love the neologism. I think the usual word is "longevity". But "lastivity" is great.
Isn't the English language wonderfully versatile?

Shayne will probably do ok with Louis. Aren't Girls Aloud & G4 both under Louis' wing?
They're the only successful acts out of the ITV talent shows apart form Will Young. And he managed to salvage something out of Pop Idol by breaking free from it & writing his own stuff. |

Shayne will last the longest, because Louis will make sure he gets good material etc. Andy may sell a few albums but I doubt he's gonna be a star.

its all down to material and if TMG is anything to go by they havent got much good stuff lined up!
i do think he is capable of making at least 3 albums though, his voice is strong enough |
