I dont;thinkt here';s a chance it can keep up the sales for a second week, espeically with the X Factor Winner. I think it's bad enough this piece of tripe's hit the top of the charts anyway. Can't beleive the Crazy frog charted Top 5 either- aren't people sick of this? And who liked it in the first place anyway? It makes me want to rip my hair out.

better than having another westlife no1 i suppose. But if people are saying westlife or nizlopi's songs are better than advertising space then i just don't get it!

Westlife don't get an Xmas #1 = I'm happy
Advertising space is bollocks - I can't take Robbie seriously The JCB lot are great - their live version of the song on CD:UK yesterday was fantastic (this song is much better the live; the recorded version is a bit pedestrian) Last edited by CaptainSensible : 18-12-2005 at 19:31. |

Never mind the x factor knob will be there next week so that might please you eh? |

I don't much like the song, plus it's getting played on Xfm which is ridiculous for a folk/pop crossover (it sounds like something Davy Graham might have done - better - in the Sixties). However they've got that great double bass sound, the guy can obviously play and the singer/guitarists's no slouch either. So to the people hoping they band will disappear without trace, I'm hoping you'll be proved wrong.

What i hate is when someone calls a song "crap" and trys to pass his/her opinion off as fact. The song is (in my opinion) a great story and because its so different its very easy to knock it. I cant think of another song if the last few years that so effortlessly conveys such strog emotions in such a simple tune, just wonderfull. I fear (again my opinion) that because its an inteligent song many people choose to knock it rather than love it because thats an easier thing to do. I use many muso sites and most serious musicians love the song and the story behind its release, maybe they care more about real music than the general public? |

Their album (as well as single) is currently number 1 on iTunes so I can't see them disappearing too fast. These are NOT a novelty act, they are a long-established duo who take their music very seriously. Whilst I totally accept everybody's right to hate the song, I'm a bit surprised at the level of bad feeling directed at the band. The listener reviews on iTunes concur with my own about the album - it's very very good, quirky, yes, different, yes, but very good IMHO. Which tells me they probably have a pretty decent future in the biz. But only time will tell...
Oh, and Rooftopcowboy, I look forward to your Volvo song. Please be so good as to post the link up on here when it's finished. |

Though I don't get why some people have taken my opinions on the song so personally. I have had 2 posts really digging in to me for saying my thoughts on the song in an attitude that seems as if my comments have attacked them personally. If someone here posted that Coldplay or U2 were crap, it wouldn't hugely bother me, and I wouldn't attack the people who said it. It doesn't make sense why people are getting like that over some song about a JCB. |
