I was looking forward to buying a JS album but not that they only came third last night I'm worried that noone will sign them. Particularly as Cowell has already made it clear in the press who he favoured.

Has anyone heard any positive news about JS being signed?

I am certain Journey South will be signed to a division of Sony BMG but it won't be Syco Records. Simon will probably get them a deal on another label

Well I'm hopeful that they do get signed. Actually, I read somewhere, that they are being signed by SC but I'd rather wait for some concrete proof before I get my hopes up.

Lemar finished third and it hasn't done his career much harm

I also heard that, just hope that JS are allowed to be JS and not moulded into some preconceived idea of Simon Cowell's, brain as to what he thinks the public want them to be like, let them be themselves Simon and you will be a rich man.

Would love to hear some of JS'S own stuff.

I hope Journey South do get a contract. Put it this way, if they don't and Chico does, then there's something wrong.

If Simon thinks they are as good as he says then they should have no problem at all being signed.

I think it's doubtful that JS would be offered a deal unless their own material is outstanding.

I think there is less of a market for them than any of the rest.

to be honest I think I would buy a JS release over a Shayne or Andy release but am not holding my breath for anyone other than Shayne to get an album out - Chico will prpbably get a single out but nobody else is different enough to warrant a chart career although I do think most of them will get at least 12 months work out of the programme

Sorry I've got to disagree, they're more rock oriented than the others so appeal to a different market, however rock outsells pop in the album stakes.
They had been doing live stuff before appearing on the show so they know the hours you need to put in to be sucessful, and know that if they get a record deal its a chance they have to grab with both hands. I think they've got the musucal ability to write their own stuff, but I do see them more as fronting a band than as just a duo.
They have the advantage of having had massive exposure on the show, I hope they make the most of their chance

I was told this had been reported in some papers yesterday. A bit unfair I thought as it didn't give them any time to refute the claims and could have affected some people's willingness to vote for them.

I agree. I wish people would stop judging what their is and isn't a market for based purely on the music they listen to or buy.

Absolutely. Even the great Simon & Garfunkel had a live band with them.
