Just calculated there that.....
1.2% is 32,400 votes of 10.8 million therefore Shayne beat Andy by that amount of votes!

I'm pretty sure votes for Journey South would be included in the 10.8m total.
The other thing I'm curious about is... guessing that most of Shayne's votes were from teens, probably voting at average 2/3 times each. And Andy's voters being the older, only one vote, type. Does that mean that there were probably more idividuals supporting Andy then Shayne ? |

At the beginning of the second show, when JS were eliminated, they had received over 6 million votes. So they would have received around 4.5 million in the remainder of the second show. I wonder how many of those were people who had already previously voted and were voting again? The producers are not stupid, are they? |

I know it sounds alot but it's still pretty close compared to most reality TV votes. Even though Shayne was favourite to win beforehand, I don't think anyone was 100% sure until his name was read out and it's possible Andy may have been leading at some stages of the evening.

so what is 1.2% of 4.5 million
that would be the difference between the winner and second place |
