If Simon Cowell promotes the winning act and CD, then should he really be a judge on the show when he has a vested interest?

You've hit the nail on the head there.

He's the boss man, does what he wants and it's up to us if we watch, take any interest or spend money on phone voting.
Didn't cost me one penny.

Vested interest or not, the show would collapse without his input as a judge on the telly.

I don't agree, i couldn't care less about Simons input, hes always so biased anyways, i watch the show if i like any of the acts not because Simon is a judge.

He's a cad and a bounder, but I still love him. It wouldn't be the same without Simon.

I beg to differ, yes people would still watch the show without Simon as a judge but it wouldnt last very long in my opinion.

I strongly believe Simon is associated in a large way wiith this whole 'talent competition' thing, people love to watch auditionees coming on stage to get slagged off................... by Simon Cowell. The audionees themselves are more interested in what he says than what the others think!

He'd still be pulling the strings even if he was behind the scene so he might as well be a judge. Plus he's half the attraction but, I think the judges shouldn't also be mentors.

They all have a vested interest in the show, you don't think Sharon and Louis get a cut too? Of course they do. They are not just there to smile and make up the numbers.

Without Simon these shows would be nothing.
