IMHO a lot of these threads seem to be a complete waste of time.

All the Dareen fans say how worthy a winner Darren was etc. etc.
All the Colin fans say that he should have won and was a better dancer.
All the Zoe fans say that she only lost because the judges were biased towards her and this lost the public vote.

They will all defend their favourites to the death and will NEVER listen to any reasonable logical argument. that is what fans (short for fanatics) do.

Just look at football fans. Most are seriously loyal and will defend their team to the end. Same with SCD fans. Most have their favourites (which is perfectly ok) and will vote for them to the end.

So don't waste your time trying to argue your favourites cause on any of the negative or pointless threads that have been created

e.g.
"First time the wrong dancer won..." (Yes if you are a Colin or Zoe fan and No if you support Darren)
"Did anyone else think Zoes samba was overated..." (Yes if you are a Colin/Darren fan and No if you support Zoe)
"So who was the best dancer" (Darren fans will say Darren, Colin fans will say Colin and Zoe fans will say Zoe)

you will be wasting your time. your not going to change anyones mind. Arguing on a forum is pointless. No one wins!

Also criticising the judges is pointless. Do you not think they were playing a role exactly as the judges do on X factor etc. If they just said nice things all the time it would be boring so they play the pantomime baddy. When they speak everybody hisses..... Everybody has their favourites and that probably applies to the judges as well. They had a job to ensure that the 3 best dancers got to the final. That they achieved and then the public got their say on the winner.

Darren won and that's that. He might not have been the best dancer OR he might have been on the night. It doesn't matter he won the public vote and that decides the winner of SCD. I personally thought he was much better on the night than I expected.
Now I know Colin and Zoe fans will argue that their favourite was a better dancer. AND they might be right over the course of the series (and acording to the judges on the final).
But it doesn't really matter. It wasn't a life or death situation and it wasn't professionally marked. It was a bit of fun that raised 1.5 million for Children in Need and gave us all an awful lot of enjoyment.

So mellow out and talk positively about the dances, not negatively and talk about the enjoyment you got and lets leave the negative comments behind us.
innocent.

I for one enjoyed the whole series . There was no-one that I really hoped wouldn't win , and the final this time was one where I thought they were all deserving.

I have really enjoyed every minute of SCD, and have no problem with Darren and Lilia winning, but I just think they should have explained the voting system to the public a little better, or maybe I am the only one who didn't understand the method. The only down side for me has been the way certain FMs try to put you down and writing sermons if they didn't happen to agree with your point of view. I am talking Dancing here and not Fantasy land. This is of course IMO.

SCD is proof that there is a place for good old fashioned entertainment on a Saturday night, I agree entirely with what Patsy said when she got knocked out, we need more of it.

Isn't it great that we have been able to see how much of a skill Ballroom Dancing is and those involved have had to put in a phenomenal amount of effort just to keep in the show and they all did cos they were motivated, whether for selfish reasons or for their partners matters not a jot, they did the work and we could enjoy it ALL.

That positive enough?

Yeah.
It seems pretty positive to me. Nice to get some comments that aren't slagging someone off.
Thanks.
Keep it up.

Just because I have my favourite, doesn't mean I don't like others and won't listen to people's comments about them.

I'm glad Darren & Lilia won, but I'm also aware they weren't the best dancers.

That's great to hear. However from what I have seen from others on this forum IMO you are in a minority.

I think some people do take things a bit far, but I think after a result show its good for us to let off steam, but I have noticed some really negative post's and would rather next series if you don't like a couple don't go and rub it in, people's favourite's got voted out because they didn't vote for them and people need to realise that.

Did anyone noticed that most of the celebrities on ITT said they wished Fionia could have won, even Claudia said it when I went to watch ITT on Wednesday!! Its amazing really isn't it.

Off topic: I loved Brendan and Fiona taking the p*ss with their bit of dancing!!!!!!!! I adore Brendan when he's not taking himself so seriously!

You are right.
There seemed to a healthy competition between the celebs and they supported each other throughout the series, which was really nice to see. I don't think any of them were desperate to win at the expense of any of the others.

Excellent Saturday Evening Entertainment. Lets see more of it.

I so agree, it also made some people realise that Brendan is really sweet, he just wanted to have fun in the end, people have to remember Brendan's in this comp to win it no matter who his partner is, what the paper's say, and watching his training with Rachael shows people that he isn't always grumpy in training (although he was a bit too much of a flirt which people then commented on )

That was very profound! Even if I don't totally get what you mean.....

SDC is such a fantastic show...and at the end of the day it doesn't really matter who wins, the real winners are of course dancing and Children in Need.

None of my favourites got to the final , and it sounds funny to say it, but it meant that I could actually sit back and enjoy it more than if someone I really wanted to win was there (I know not everyone feels this way).

So as it happened, I didn't really mind who won...all three couples deserved the praise and recognition that they were given on Saturday, the fact that Darren won meant less to me than the 10 weeks of really excellent TV all of the couples have given. That's what I'll miss, and that's what I can't wait to see again next year.

I've watched SCD from the first series, and it has been fantastic to have a show that just sets out to entertain, just good old fashioned Saturday night entertainment. Of course I've had my favourites from each series - none of them so far have made the final, but this year's final was exceptional - any one of the three pairs of dancers could have won, and they all had their strengths in different areas, which IMHO made it the most exciting final yet.

I've also enjoyed coming on this Forum - it has been great to discuss things with like-minded fans and to join in some of the more bizarre pink and fluffy threads, though I've not posted much over the weekend, can't see the point of critisising others for their views on something that has already happened.

It's great show but still have room for improvement.

There are lots of opinion but some of them are not nonsense, some of them did have very constructive comments and suggestions. I hope in next series all the problems we have will be sorted.

Pink and Fluffy threads it's a lovely place to be.

Erin was brave to use the marionettes,
Zoe and Ian's show dance was amazing,
so was Darren and Lilia's,
Ian didn't mind falling over, and got up and carried on,
Colin and Erin were gracious losers,
Darren and Lilia were modest winners

and....

THE SCD TROPHY IS ALL SHINY AND PRETTY!!!!!

And to cap it all, we got one of the best ITT's ever out of it, by way of a bonus.

Should have added that the ITT gave us a chance to reprise some of the best/most memorable moments of the series.
