Ok, the DS Film Club that damndirtyape and I tried to set up died an unseemly death but how about a dedicated 'DW dvd watch and review thread?'

We can decide on a particular dvd, set a date and post reviews or simply watch from out of our own collection and review ad hoc as and when.

Whaddayathink?

I'm in.
I don't have many on DVD, although my local library has a brilliant selection - and I recently found a box of VHS with old recordings from UKGold (Back in the days when that bloke used to introduce them)

Yeah, ok. It will pass the time in the new year until series two starts.

How are you going to decide which story we tackle each week?

Well...depends what people have in their collections I guess.

Here are a few suggestions for week 1

Resurrection of the Daleks
Talons of Weng Chiang
Robots of Death
The Green Death
Speahead from Space
I think I saw Tomb of The Cybermen in HMV yesterday. Would like to see that again.

Ooh what a choice!

And if you haven't got Tomb, I can heartily recommend it - although I admit to being biased.

ANY Troughton episode is excellent. Definatly my fav of the first 8. Possibly ties with Eccles as best.

Some nice person has just sent me City of Death by way of a present.

Excellent!

Fantastic - to coin a phrase.

I still prefer to watch Tomb, though (only slighty.) I think it has to do with the fact that so few of Pat Troughton's stories still exist - and he was such a wonderful actor, imo.

As was Tom Baker.
