I think the normal multiple to use to get the full week's sales figures here is x4! With Saturday being Xmas Eve and albums being the perfect last minute stocking filler, I wouldn't be surprised if the 'multiple' is x5 this week. That would equate to some huge figures for those albums come Sunday! Surely everyone who wanted Blunty's album has actually got it by now? Or maybe some people have worn it out and are having to replace it. LOL.

Maybe well meaning relatives are like "What can I get ... hmm I hear that James Blunt fellow is nice, I'll get him/her that" and the person ends up with many copies.

Anyway im glad about the singles predictions because Im currently annoyed at Westlife (how dare they win single of the year with a cover!) but the albums, hmm. Ah well most people focus on singles anyway. Plus at the end of the day I don't really care.

Does anyone know why Mariah Carey's "All I want for Christmas" is chart ineligible?

I'm not a huge fan of the Nizlopi song and I'm praying that The Pogues come through as either of those would be better than That's My Goal. It can be number 2 for all I care but please don't make it number 1.

I agree with you there. From the ones in the running, I'd definitely pick The Pogues for No 1... and if not them, Nizlopi (it grew on me as soon as I listened to the lyrics just for the nostalgic thoughts of Zoids and BA Baracas )

Think it's something in the Download rules whereby a downloaded single only counts in the charts up to a year after it was first released. And Mariahhhh's one was first released yonks ago.

I'm probably talkin' rubbish....

Really? How many did Will sell for his first one? ( Evergreen?). I wouldn't have thought Shayne would have sold more but you never know. It's Xmas time after all.

If Shayne does sell a bucketload I can only conclude there are a lot of tone deaf people in this country. I'm sorry but I think it's absolutely dire. One of the worst songs I've heard all year . It's a dirge. The boy deserves better material than that.

Dunno how many Will sold, think it was a lot though. But did Will win PI at xmas time? I think shayne appeals to a certain type of person and I'm not one of them. I am besotted with Darren Gough so never really watched X factor.

That's what they call "hype". But who knows, I think the song is better than Evergreen (though not better than Anything Is Possible, people often seem to forget it was a double-A-sided single), though I don't think the singer is better than Will Young.

AIP/E'green sold more than 1.1m copies in its first week of release and went on to sell nearly 1.8m copies in total, in the UK. That'll be a record hard to beat.

I don't think X-Factor, and the final on Saturday, had quite the same buzz about it as the first series of PI.

I also hope the JCB song can stay at number 1, but I don't think it'll happen.

Will sold about 330,000 on the first day and 1,108,000 in the first week.

They have shipped 700,000 copies of Shayne's song apparently.

I'm not buying it!
