Pioneer 530 & Chase Play
Could anyone tell me how large the buffer on this machine is for chase play? Can the buffer size be changed, if so what are the selections?
I currently have a philips 720 (has developed a fault and I am going to return to supplier) that has a maximum 6 hour buffer which is perfect. ie you leave the sky box on the channel you want and it records the last 6 hours which you can then navigate as you wish. Is this posssible with pioneer if so how long can it be set for?? Thanks in advance. |

Chase Play simply means you can play back a recording as you're recording it. Therefore you're limited by the space you've got left on the HDD to record in. But I think there's also a maximum time of an individual recording of 12 hours. Note that it doesn't play back exactly in real time! The closest you can play back is about 5 seconds behind what it's recording... |

Unfortunately, you can't have any moving images, or sub-menus. I've never tried, but believe that it's possible to add chapters. However, you won't be able to go to the chapter directly from the DVD menu - you'll have to play the title, and use the "forward to next chapter" button on the remote. If you wish to make swish menus, then it should be possible to copy the programmes to the DVD using the Pioneer, and then create the menus using a DVD-R drive on a computer. I've absolutely no idea how to do this, but someone has no doubt written relevant software. |
