LG u880 on Three
Widdy
21-12-2005
I am normally very loyal to Orange and have had a contract with them for about three or four years, I cancel every year so I can sign up for the latest phone for free, yeah I get a new number but not bothered about that.

After seeing the new slick and thin LG on television last night I immedietly went to the three website and applied for it it on the online 975 tariff.

How easy are three contracts to get, I have a good, but not perfect credit history, no blemishes on it for over five years, do you think I will get accepted?

Should be no problem, they can't afford to be too fussy.

One dealer said in a recent report in Mobile Today ‘Credit vetting is much higher on Vodafone than on 3, so for every one customer that is accepted on Vodafone, probably five or more fail and go on 3 instead.’

3 gave me a contract with no problems. I have a less than brilliant credit rating but I didn't have any problems. If you applied online they will email you back in a few hours to tell you either way.

Why do you cancel your contract every year? Just ask for a free upgrade and keep your existing contract and number.

3 are so desparate they don't just give you a new handset after 12 months but free or 1/2 price line rental for up to 6 months!!

I declined their offer though as I found the service frustrating and barely useable. I got a great deal on a nice Samsung 3G handset from Vodafone with Stop The Clock, Passport and totally unrestricted Internet Access. Great that you can spend your text bundle on SMS,MMS, Video Messaging and Internet Access. Free TV for 3 months too! Its worth looking at other networks before commiting to 3, things are more competitive now.

I thought the Free TV offer ended on 31st January? If so, that's only 6 weeks away from now - half the '3 months' you claim.

EDIT: Upon re-reading your post it appears that perhaps you were relating to the offer you had already recieved, not what was available to someone signing up having read your post today.
My bad, I guess.

Anyhoo, back on topic; Widdy - let us kow how you get on with your application!

A sweeping statement.
I am very happy with the phone, tariff and service. A lot happier than when I was on Orange.

You can't go wrong with the LG U880, excellent phone, and of course the thinnest on any 3G service.

As for the "3" network, you always get those people who put it down, but they've grown from strength to strength and are building a strong and loyal customer service base.

Great choice you made there! I'm not on 3 myself, but on Vodafone, but I do work in the industry, so know whats going on and I know what the return rates on phones are like... And you'll be happy to know "3"'s customers seem pretty happy with the new range of phones and the growing coverage.
