Well, she is supposed to be in the second series - but I would have thought it might be out of her league. (Her motivation for her actions last time was greed - she was quite prepared to kill everybody on the Platform in order to make a fast buck.)

Still, as you say, it could be her. Or Adam. Or a new character introduced early in series two, much like the Slitheen were in bought back towards the end of series one.

The soaps forums are shocking for bad spelling and grammar. I mentally have to correct every other word!

The spoilers sound brilliant. I'm trying not to get too excited about the second series as the night before the "Bad Wolf" was revealed I was up for about 6 hours trying to find press spoilers! Don't want to become obsessed again!

I often read that we DW fans are described as obsessive.

I refuse to believe it.

I am sure once the storyarc for series two becomes more apparent we will be obsessing and speculating again in the same way we did last year with Bad Wolf.

Methinks there will be two themes running through this series as there was with the last with Bad Wolf and the Time War.

Torchwood being one so perhaps the other will not become apparent until we have seen two or three eps..

Obviously this series will pave the way for the spinoff (Torchwood) but there will have to be an arc for the series as well, since RTD is so fond of them. (I'm fond of them too. )

Maybe the arc will lead to the restoration of Gallifrey?

Think as I suggested in an earlier post if Gallifrey and the Time Lords are restored then it would be great to see them having to start again from scratch, without so much power as they did in the classic series and perhaps evolved further as a result of the experience of the time war.

Yes, other races appear to have stepped in to fill the vacuum left behind once the timelords departed, so reclaiming their crown might not be as simple as just reappearing.

The timelords had become rather stale the last time we met them. Very set in their ways and content to just sit back and observe, for the most part. Surely an event such as a war against their own planet (which they considered invincible, impregnable etc.) would change them forever?

I like the idea that they could return further evolved - could be a way to explain away the twelve regeneration limit, i.e. every timelord now regenerates an infinite number of times.

Although I'd like that explanation to be a little less obvious, if we ever get to a point where we need it.

The Doctor has always stated that he cannot go back and change what happened to his race so it would be interesting if Rose (through what she did when bringing Cpt Jack back to life) or even one of his enemies inadvertently resurrecting them through dabbling in their own time travel experiments.

Don't like the idea of a race where no-one ever dies, could lead to over-population unless the genetic looms used to create the Time Lords have been destroyed, and wont be re-created.

IIRC (Can't find my Twin Dilemma VHS to check for sure), when the Sixth Doctor explained it to Peri, he said that each regeneration happened "each time with diminishing effect". That would tie in quite nicely with him having problems with his later regenerations.

By the way, as regards a Series 2 story arc, there is one, and the running order of episodes is being shuffled so that it can unfold in a better way (RTD says it in this month's SFX, but I can't remember where in the magazine he said it and can't find it. You can't get the staff these days... )

As I said, I hope the regeneration issue is dealt with in a way which is less obvious. In fact, I like the idea that another poster came up with that basically saw the Doctor being granted further regenerations against his will.

Presumably he had to accept them for the greater good, despite his feelings on the matter. That would be rather a good way of doing it, I think.

Yep - article on pages 44 - 48. It's mostly about the Christmas Invasion, but there's some intriguing stuff on season 2/28 as well. Doesn't sound like there's as many strange alien worlds as originally promised...

Well there was talk of another renegade Timelord appearing in this series. So maybe he is the one allied with the Cybermen?

Other Timelord goes to alternate earth with Cybermen which he controls, uses them to turn population of alternate Earth into more Cybermen , takes them back to the non-alternate reality, uses his Cyberman army to fight the Daleks in the final two episodes in hope of saving the Timelords.

It's a leap but it would help explain the rumored Dalek/Cybermen war.

Although after looking at the current rumours it's not Daleks in the final episodes at all, so it's hard to know what to believe (which is as it should be IMO).
