That's not quite true.. The talent show "Your A Star", which proved highly successful for RTE, was run with the intention of allowing the country to view auditions, and vote for their fave representative to enter the Eurovision. Now.. admittedly, the show has cut ties with the Eurovision this year, and is simply another X-Factor type programme.. but for the last few years, the hope of winning the song contest was very strong. Lol, the problem was lack of talent, rather than lack of trying..
Brian Kennedy = Zzz IMO, but I'd sooner have him enter than an actually decent act, because Eurovision usually spells imminent doom for serious artists anyhow..
