Thanks for this info, lonepiper. You just made my day, as I definitely won't be able to watch on Christmas night, and was wondering if it would be repeated at all!

Yes, I'd agree with that.

I notice that DT pointed out that Roger Lloyd-Pack was playing an evil genius in series two - and immediately thought of an older Adam, perhaps?

You're right, it is. 7 pm on BBC3.

DT's interview was great last night and I think the only thing that spoilt last nights show was Chico being on! He didn't deserve to be on the same show as DT and Steve Coogan!
I was a bit disappointed with the clip they showed because I was hoping they were going to show a new clip, but this one was shown on GMTV the other day
Oh well, at least we've only got to wait 1 day to see it!

Think Adam deserves another outing in his own right as methinks that story is unresolved.

Maybe, but I was instantly struck by the possibility of Bruno Langley looking not too dissimilar to Roger when he reaches his 50s.

Christmas viewing preview by Charlie Brooker of the Guardian. Now, if you're a regular reader you'll know Charlie's not easy to please.

The whole article's well worth a read (especially if your sense of humour is like mine) but if you're strictly interested in Doctor Who, scroll down. He's positively glowing about the Christmas special, without giving anything away.

If it's good enough for Charlie, it's good enough for me.

It does sound rather good, Charlie's columns are the highlight for me in theGuide. And he's not one to hold back when somethings crap.
If it's half as good as they claim, I'll be delighted.
Happy Christmas

Didn't DT also say that there were no plans for Billie to leave at the end of the series?

I do hope he's right. It'd be nice to have the same Doctor/Companion combination over 2 series rather than just 1!

Good sign that one Guardian critics liked it - but bear in mind that the politique of the christmas show would have appealed to the Guardian crowd.

I couldn't give a monkeys what any critics think - I'm quite able to make up my own mind about TV programmes.

Good for you sir! Critics do carry a lot of influence though, alas.

Well said, Stuart - and I couldn't agree more.

I am firmly of the opinion that critics should not - under any circustances, be paid any attention whatsoever. They are overpaid hacks who should be kept out of light, especially sunlight. Don't ever get them wet. Keep them away from water. But the most important thing, the thing you must never forget... no matter how much they cry, no matter how much they beg - never, ever feed them after midnight!

Unless they say nice things about my favourite programme, of course.

Once again, Den, I concur entirely!

As fans we can afford that luxury. Yet to the TV executive, ratings success is only half the measure. It is said that few producers can endure the disdain of the critic. These critics are the essential ichor of the production industry, the essence of success itself. Nobody knows why this is so, it just is.

I disagree - I think ratings are far more powerful. I believe that critics are often proved wrong by ratings.
