WiFi handsets (F1000) on Sipgate...
Hi, does anybody own one of these wireless mobile type handsets (such as the F1000 shown on www.sipgate.co.uk) and if so, can you tell me if it will work on more than 1 wireless network.
For example, can I configure it to my home wireless network and also the wireless networks at my relatives so that I can take it with me and receive my calls still by hopping from one to the other network? (assuming that all networks are set to allow access to the handset) I'm thinking of buying one but at £99 I'm loathed to buy one if it won't do this function that I'm hoping for as I spend more time out than in. Thanks for any info on this (I've not been able to locate any further guides or user manuals for this model as yet - could be looking in the wrong places but someone out there must know...hopefully!) Merry Christmas everyone. FB |

Just did a search on google for f1000 and found this site http://www.utstar.com/Solutions/Handsets/WiFi/
according to the manual you can save 4 access points. |

Hi, Thanks for replying. I googled it too last night in the end and saw that you could save 4 SSIDs on it (took me a while to find anything useful!). Plus I believe from what I read that it will also connect to any 'open' access points as it comes across them.

I've had one of these for a while so I can confirm that you can indeed store four sets of wireless network settings.
£99 is a good price as well - I paid about £130 for mine! |
