International texting
I'm curious if anyone out there texts internationally? I have a friend in Wiltshire who I can text and he receives texts but cannot receive pictures. I have been able to send a text with pictures to his email only via my phone.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is it something I'm doing wrong? Oh, btw, I have a Motorola razr v3 phone.

Sometimes networks can have international roaming agreements but this doesn't cover everything.
Some agreements are just voice. There are others which are just voice and SMS agreements - which I believe your carrier may have. Really for international MMS to work, there has be be a specific agreement that one network can send another a picture message - if there are no agreements then this might fail. I would suggest cotacting your mobile phone company in the US and ask them if they have a MMS/picture message agreement with whatever network the person in the UK is on. |

Thanks SquawkBOX! I'll call them about it. As usual, when they're selling you stuff they make it seem like anything and everything is possible. I didn't know about the agreements, though.

I have a similar question about international texting so i thought i'd post it in here.
I would like to txt a "short number" (like the ones on tv 63399 etc.) that is in the USA. Is this possible? I know I can call the US by using +1 then the number. Any help is greatly appreciated Regards C.Barber

Short Codes are unique to the country ie. A UK shortcode can only be texted by people in the UK.
