Don't know if this has been posted.

GAY Doctor Who star John Barrowman is to do an Elton John — and wed his boyfriend.
John — bisexual Captain Jack in the BBC1 show — wants to formalise his relationship with architect Scott Gill after ten years.

But unlike Sir Elton and David Furnish, they won’t be having a lavish showbiz bash.

The 37-year-old actor said: “We’re just going to sign the civil register. We’re not going to have any ceremony because I’m not a supporter of the word marriage for a gay partnership.”

The pair live in London’s Chelsea and signing the register gives them the same rights as other married couples.

They are even talking about having a baby together.

John — currently rehearsing for ITV1 show Dancing On Ice — said: “The daughter of a very, very old friend offered to carry a child for us. I’ve known her since she was five or six.

“She has kids of her own but said that if we wanted a child she’d be happy to do it.”

Nice one! Think it is great that same sex couples can now register their partnership/relationship if they so choose to and can get the benefits and recognition that everyone else gets when they marry.

John Barrowman being gay is old news. Us West End Show folks have known about him for years! Apparently, he had a field day with a number of guys from the chorus when he played the lead character 'Chris' in 'Miss Saigon' in the 90's - he was very promiscuous back then. However, it's nice to know that he's finally decided to settle down with just the one. He must be knackered from all of his previous theatrical sexploits!

Good for him!

I had a nice time with some of the Copocabana boys in the mid 90's!

I'm with JB on the whole marriage thing, good to see him and his partner getting to make their commitment to each other, equality is the key. Every happiness to them both.

John didn't do too badly when he played Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard back then either. My, how he must have hated having to kiss Betty Buckley at the end of act one!

Good for John and congratulations to both him and his partner.

A kiss is a kiss - and I'm happy to kiss anyone.

Ahh, best wishes to them both

*Sniffs in a sentimental manner and ponders the fact I may have started on the Christmas booze a little early *

I hate the whole idea of surrogacy - especially when there are so many unwanted children in the world whom need a good home.

There's something about giving babies away to order which leaves a nasty taste in my mouth. I'm not saying it's wrong - I haven't thought about it enough to have an opinion - but on a gut-level, I find it icky.

I agree... as a gay fella, i'd rather adopt/foster than have a surrogate. There are too many kids out there needing loving families.

I know exactly what you mean, i'm a gay guy and just my two cents worth, on one hand i understand what people mean when they say the idea of the mother giving the baby away after she's given birth must be extremely difficult (i'm guessing its not like the redicilous last episode of friends when the mother's smiling and laughing, here's the twin's take them)

But on the other hand with the whole adoption argument, I do truly understand that there are a lot of kids who need a new home, who desperatly need parent's, but I don't think I could do it, I'd want either myself or my partner to be the biological father, that probably makes me incredibly selfish, but that's just how I feel I suppose,

Merry Christmas everyone by the way

He still is promiscuous. He and Scott have a VERY open relationship. They had a gaydar profile of 2hungladds until very recently with some VERY interesting private pix on it...

Believe me - no way is John Boy knackered from his theatrical sexploits - or any other sexploits...

Well if it works for them and obviously it does if they are going to have a civil partnership then I still wish them good luck.

Hmm... Is it wrong to spread a little love?

(I once had to kiss a 78 year old woman and made sure I used tongues - I wanted it to look convincing so wasn't in the least bothered. She was surprised - and I guess delighted, at least from her reaction. I was 26. )

And although I didn't do much acting, I've never found it difficult to kiss women *or* men.

Excuse me, how did anyone not know he was gay? He was hired by Russell T Davies. I think the only people RTD has hired who aren't gay are Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper! David Tennant probably isn't, but I don't know for sure. I'm sure someone knows. This isn't a dig at Russell T Davies, by the way, just in case you were wondering. I like him (not in that way...) and every show he's done has been fantastic. I was really pleased when it was first said that he was in charge of bringing back Doctor Who as it was someone with great talent.

I'm sure RTD will be delighted to know you approve of what he's done with DW.

Equally, I'm sure RTD will be gutted to know that you don't like him 'in that way...'

HAPPY CHRISTMAS. To each and every one of you.
Thank you for caring enough to visit this, and all the other Who sites here.
For joining in the arguments and discussions. And for just being there, thank you for making this last year so much fun. We may not have always agreed, but it's been a pleasure to have been with you.
Every happiness to you and your families.
Oh, and by the way, I'm 36, single male, straight, bit left of centre and love DW, anyone fancy a snog?
With own box set and sonic srewdriver.
