He is actually regarded as one of the finest leading men of musical theatre. He was magnificent as Joe Gillis in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, both in the West End and on Broadway. And by far the best John in Miss Saigon I ever saw.

Admittedly, Anything Goes was much better at the National.

Have to be honest and say that I haven't seen much of his musical theatre work..only films and TV.

I never knew he was gay. I never noticed Captain Jack was bisexual either, even though I own the DVD set for the first series and am a massive fan of the series (2005 onwards, definitely NOT the old version!)

Me too. I want to see The Producers as I love the original film.

And would have liked to have seen A Few Good men because of John, Lowe and Sorkin. I love The West Wing too!

I have to say, Rob Lowe was a profound disappointment. But it may be because he was way too old for the role. The production was worth seeing, though.

JB was great. I, too, like Rob Lowe, but his stage presence was a bit too mannered for my liking. However, I saw it the week it opened and he might have been settling in. But he was a good ten years too old for the part.

Well whoever is buying, I'd love a very large gin and a very small tonic. Or a Guiness so cold you'd think it had been placed in Thatcher's heart. Yes indeed, little bit of politics...

Do I detect something of Ben Elton in you?

Ok, as this thread has moved off topic and has been marred with a bickering overtone, Thread Closed.
