Hi.

This is going to sound really pathetic, and I should imagine there's nothing that can be done, but I have to ask.

Basically, someone rang my home number just before midnight and I didn't get to the phone in time to answer it. Straight away I dialled 1471 and it was a mobile number I didn't recognise. I called it back twice, but each time it just went straight to the answering machine. The number starts with 07766 (don't want to give out the whole thing, just in case).

I know this is odd (on my part), but the thing is that I suffer from OCD and things like this really wind me up and get me panicking.

Sorry for being such a wuss, but like I say, this kind of thing really gets to me.

Go to google and do a search on the number. That often yields useful information.

Or it could have been a genuine wrong number and when the caller realised, they switched off their mobile.

It is the time of year when tipsy party-goers make phone calls late at night to friends/colleagues/partners/taxis/pizza shops and often have less control of their fingers than they would like - hence misdials.

Well if they didn't withold their number, I wouldn't worry about it.

If you have OCD, try and stay calm and if it helps, use the call baring facility to stop incomming calls at night. If you have a carer, explain this and they will arrange this for you. ok.
