I want to see what everyone's age is because I thought it would be interesting to see what sort of age group enjoys soaps the most. I'm going to collect the data and post the results when I'm done.

I'm 19 and have been watching soaps for about 5 years.

Aren't you just gonig to find the age group of this forum, rather than soaps in general?

I'm 22 and have been watching soaps since the early-mid 90s.

Err this is a public forum, most forums stop the threads where people ask for ages.

But does it give their birthyear or any indication as to how old they are? I think the reason behind it is so you dont get all these internet paedophiles preying on some of the younger members.

I take that point tho it's more a problem in chat rooms, and for anyone under 16 who easily taken in...., they might say they look like Brad Pit but chances are they're 58 and han'vt seen past the round beer belly in years....

Lol yeah thats what I mean. Its just that I thought with private messaging this could become a problem like chat rooms have.

30's.

Eastenders, Neighbours and Home and Away since they started.

Corrie for 5 years.

Emmerdale since the plane crash.

Brookie since Damon died until a year before it ended.

Hollyoaks; i watched the first year before it turned into Baywatch UK.

I've never seen an episode of family affairs.

*sigh* theres always one who forces a thread to decend into the farcical.

I'm 20, watch Neighbours, Hollyoaks, Eastenders and Corrie, dunno when I started watching them. Hollyoaks is fairly recent, probably only a year or so.

I'm 24, I've been watching EE & Corrie since I was a little girl and allowed to stay up, Neighbours from the Scott & Charlene days (I was about 8 I think & wanted to be a mechanic I was big like Charlene!!).

I've been watching H&A since the begining-I was a member of the fan club!!, by that time I wanted to be like Bobby Simpson & run away to Summer Bay and work in the diner!!,I drifted away about 97-2001 & didnt see it on a regular basis.

Hollyoaks, well I remember the 1st episode & have been watching that since then.

Emmerdale, since the plain crash really.I did watch it a bit before that tho' not much.

I'm the oldie of the group (so far)
in the 35-45 category

Watched Emmerdale since 1996 (was dire in the 70s - apparently a man shot his telly when he watched it then!!)
Corrie since 1977 (when it was only on twice a week!!)
Eastenders since 1985 - day 1!
Brookside 1983-1986 (got too depressing)
Home & Away 1990
Neighbours 1988
Never watched Crossroads or Family Affairs
Hollyoaks - occasionally (hubby is a fan and older than I am)
Dallas 1979 to end
Dynasty 1984 to end

So been watching soaps for 29 years !!!
Sad or what - lol
