Why don't I get text delivery reports?
Having owned a very old Motorola on Orange PAYG for about four years I recently changed to a SE on O2.
I didn't get delivery reports on my old Motorola and I always assumed this was due to the age of the phone. My wife always got them on her Nokia, which is also on Orange PAYG. I was delighted to find my Sony-E has an option for delivery reports which I immediately turned on, but I still don't get them. So my question is, are delivery reports a function of the phone or of the network operator? |

Hmm... that's what my daughter thought. She's been with most of the networks and she seemed to remember not getting reports when she was with O2.
Do they have any plans to introduce this feature? What's their problem with it? |

Yeah the only networks I've tried that I know definitely do delivery reports are T-Mobile and Orange, but even then it depends on your phone too...

Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile support V2 SMS reports, which can be enabled through the menus on your phone.
O2 only support V1 SMS reports. To enable this you must place *0# before each message. |
