Monday 9 January 2006

The residents of Albert Square are still reeling from the death of one of their friends. Everyone turns out for the funeral, but will they be able to keep control of their tempers?

WHO DIES?

I'm afraid this storyline does seem to exist largely to facilitate Phil, and Grant's impending return. It's a case of the characters serving the plot.

I suppose Johnny's hostility to Sharon stems from her closeness to Dennis and the Mitchells. Paranoia ahoy!
Sharon is not close enough to Ruby for Johnny to fear "blowback".

The thing that does not make sense is Dennis helping Juley. He would (and should) definitely protect Stacey and cover her back, but quite why he would help Juley is odd indeed. Tactically, all he has to do is provide backup for Stacey, nothing more.

Could be that he sees Johnny's behaviour as a reflection of Den, and thus projects his animosity towards his late father onto Johnny.

Johnny is a nasty man, he doesnt have to go that far, to kill dennis!
Johnny has serious problems because if something doesnt go his way he gets his gun out and people then die!
weirdo!

I'm waiting for the twist, he feigns his own death somehow and Sharon is grieving well as she knows he is still alive. She will leave to join him abroad. Johnny is at the funeral cos it's one of his heavies in the box not Dennis.

Is it all making sense now?

I'm sure I read in some magazines that it was a mystery attacker. He stabs Dennis and leaves him bleeding to death in the Square.

I'm still half hoping this is true because I really, really don't want Dennis to die. However I think it's looking less and less likely. To feign his own death would imply he's scared of Johnny and that's just not the way he's behaving right now. Unless of course he does it just to please Sharon.

Still, as long as they don't show him lying on the ground looking obviously dead - a la Tiffany - they can always say this is what happened if they want to bring him back at some future point!
