Nick Kosovichs comments on tatum were very strange and unsupportive after their dance. She was tricky and difficult in the beginning, why mention it? They gave a great performance and got great scores.

I spy a bit of tension in the air. I'll watch for that

The "Confessional" is like a back-stage look...kind of like ITT in a way only they're A LOT less restrained.

Cheers!

They've completed the second week but waiting for the videos on the website. I'm really looking forward to seeing Stacys 10,10,9 rumba and Drews 9,9,9 quickstep

That's the second co presenter they've had, they had another woman for the first series. Have to say that Brucie is much better than the US host

I've been checking up on Raphael's website and he's only just got hold of a tape to put online as his computer didn't record the show. Hopefully it should be up either much later today or sometime tomorrow.

If you can't wait to see Stacy's 9, 10, 10 Rumba, then you can watch it here, albeit with some dodgy lift music dubbed over the live track, since WWE probably didn't have permission to broadcast it:

http://www.wwe.com/content/media/vid...acystarsround2

The competition was spiced up again with some controversy. And ...

Spoiler
Tatum O'Neal and Nick Kosovich were eliminated

Things are already hotting up and it's only week two!

Thanks for that Estolibre, LOL " dodgy lift music" I see what you mean.

Stacy moves so effortlessly I'm looking forward to seeing her dance. Hopefully her partner Tony will choreograph routines that show off her best. I think she could have done a lot more with the rumba had he done a more creative routine. I wonder what her background is in terms of dance training etc. I mean besides the 'wrestling'

I'm not surprised that they left.

Spoiler
I predicted them not lasting. They did not seem to be getting on well last week and I can't imagine their Rumba would have be filled with love either

Was there any more controversy?

Um, I actually quite like wrestling, hence why I know about Stacy. Each to their own, I guess .

In essence, Stacy Keibler in Dancing with the Stars is this series' equivalent of Jill Halfpenny in SCD Series Two. It seems self-indulgent to quote yourself, but I'll reiterate what I stated on the first page of this thread:

Originally Posted by Estilolibre:

She is accustomed to performing in front of a live audience on a daily basis as part of her work in a WWE wrestling ring. And she has made it known that she is accustomed to following choreography. Her dance experience will definitely be a strong asset and her flexibility is impressive, so I see Tony making the most of that. Given the amount of times I've seen the female participants performing the splits on the dance floor, Stacy will probably end up cartwheeling around and showing off her athleticism.

On paper, I honestly cannot see anyone beating her. And she has a huge following in terms of her wrestling fan base who can keep her in every week. However, the competition hasn't begun yet, so the other contestants may be able to match her abilities. For now, my monopoly money is on her.”

Stacy has a dance background, but not in Ballroom or in dances that require a partner. See the article excerpt below:

When I was dancing I would dance three times a week and compete on the weekends, and all I did was dance. I would tell my parents that I didn’t want to dance and wanted to play other sports like soccer. My mom always said “no, you’re going to break your legs, you have to keep dancing.” I always complained about it, and now my mom is like, “Oh, so now see where dancing has gotten you.” I also won a dance competition to become a Nitro Girl for WCW. And now who knows what will happen because I’ll be in a dance competition on national television. So, I have to thank my parents for pushing me into dancing when I was growing up. I’m not only going to do this for myself, but I want to do this for every WWE fan out there.”

You can read the full interview here

Unless the public vote turns against her as was unfortunately the case with Zoe or injury forces her out, I maintain that Stacy will win the competition. However, I would like to see the others improve as it is still an early stage in the competition.

Controversy

The other talking point is our friend Master P. He was alleged to have been offered some proper Ballroom dance shoes by his partner Ashly, only for him to drop them on the floor and kick them away. Whether this has been sensationalised for ratings, I couldn't say. Still, it has provoked furious debate on the Dancing with the Stars message board - let's just say that our American compatriots are less reticent about making their opinions known to others. People have questioned whether he is really trying or being respectful of the Ballroom dance world. I haven't seen the vignettes, so I have no idea. Personally I think it's been blown out of proportion and it detracts from the hard work of the other competitors.

I don't have much to say about the eliminated couple, apart from the fact that I would prefer to review their dance once Raphael puts it online. Certainly, there may have been some backstage tension ...

Well that saved me going through the threads.
I hope she doesn't win, any dance training is still a huge advantage as is obvious with Stacy.

This master P stuff sounds a bit predictable. I hope it's not been orchestrated just for the ratings

Just had a look at the DWTS forums. They've all had dance training before. Stacy , Drew in his boyband, Lisa, Giselle and Jerry Rice did ballet (i'm still waiting for confirmation on that one)

Still I'm loving George after his cha cha, so cheeky and bucketloads of personailty.

They are really going for Master P on the forums, he is going to keep being voted in as a joke. And maybe it's a good thing that....
Spoiler
tatum went, not very popular either

The first thing I thought of when I saw P - no respect whatsoever. Not for the world of dancing, not for his partner. I just feel so sorry for Ashly as I imagine she will be trying her very best, only to be faced with his nonchalance and arrogance.

Raphael has now put up the week two videos. Unfortunately, as they were taken from a VHS recording, the sound is not quite as high as previous clips. Still, the drama and the quality of the dancing remains in tact.

obscure - or Craig?

I'm not a fan of the rumba at all - but very much enjoyed the fun of George Hamilton's "everything and the kitchen sink" quickstep and surprised myself by being quite pleased that P improved in a week!

If you want an introduction to the world of Ballroom dance and an explanation of what to look for in the dances, then who better to tell you than Strictly's own Len Goodman!

Here's a link to Dancing with the Stars official site, featuring audio only "podcasts" with Len talking what to look for in a Cha Cha, Waltz, Rumba or Quickstep.

Gotta love a lesson with Len!

Isn't it odd that the results show is on the following night? Does anyone know if all the contestants come back again? I wonder how it works.

It must be pretty much the same as the Strictly results show. After all, there are musical acts and professional demonstrations. They must have brought back all the dancers to announce the eliminated couple the following night.

I suppose you could ask Raphael or EyesOFire to provide a definitive answer?

In America, our results show features a recap of the previous night, musical performances (Barry Manilow is coming up) and then the couple is eliminated. All the remaining couples are around for the results show as they don't find out who the bottom two is until that night.

So far I'm rooting for Lisa Rinna! It seems pretty obvious to me that the judges just hate her. She's made it clear that she's loving the competition and trying her hardest, but they just won't throw her a bone. Her Rumba, IMo was one of the best, but they gave her negative reviews again.

What REALLY pisses me off is that Master P got a 5 in the second week and Lisa got a 5 the previous week. How is ANYTHING he's done equivilent to Lisa?!?! The judges are really nice and supportive to his sorry ass and it makes me sick. He is mean to his partner and is making a joke out of the show. If he wins I'll throw up.

Another thing, I really think Stacy is overrated. All she does is pose, pose pose! I'm over her.

I don't get these low marks for Lisa either. Both week she has suffered harsh marking from the judges and both weeks she has been one of the best dancers. She's one of my faves.

I'm liking George too at the moment, he so much sparkle and jazz on the dancefloor in a John O Hurley way, but not as good a dancer. Hopefully he can improve.

I'm looking forward to seeing more Latin from Drew, improvement from Master P because he has rhythm just needs loads more movement. Ashly needs to kick him into shape rather than cry. Karen, Lilia or Erin would do better with him. Stacey moves so well I'm sure she can do a lot more dance steps but Tony Dovolani needs to do better choreography.

Just watched the Lindy Hop demo. Wish that were included in SCD as a competition dance. I'd pay big money to watch Anton do that!

Strangely enough at the beginning of SCD they were supposed to do 3 extra dances - Salsa, Argentine Tango and the Jitterbug. The Jitterbug was dropped for the American Smooth. I think that this was to favour the guys as this year they seemed determined to have a male winner.

But the jitterbug is simliar in style to the lindyhop, it should have been amoung the dances

My thoughts exactly. I think Lisa has definitely been undermarked and I have enjoyed both of her performances very much, especially the Rumba. However I think a lot of the reasoning for the low score there was to do with the perils of being the first to dance.

Lisa to win - she's dancing with Louis - need I say more!

Just to let you all know I haven't dropped off the face of the Earth... A change in schedule has me running around like a maniac!

A few thoughts on Week 2....

Have to agree with Bruno about Tia Carrere - has such a natural warmth and rhythm...but the way I see it, she's easily capable of doing much more. I'm predicting that Tango will FINALLY be the dance Tia breaks out of her shell with.

At this point in time, I believe that the final 3 are going to be Drew/Cheryl, Giselle/Jonathan and Tony/Stacy - with Jerry/Anna very close behind and ready to pounce should one of these 3 falter. The quality of the dancing overall is much higher now than it was in the first series - No couple is safe and it's been made clear that every team must be at their best at all times.

Tatum O'Neal - Sure, her nerves got the better of her, and her partner was a man who's specialty is American Smooth and not Rhythm...Still, her performance was LIGHT years ahead of Master P's - and I'm still scratching my head as to why the public will vote for popularity vs. effort - when the show is about dancing in the first place.

I'm telling you, whoever last brought his name up, DON'T get me started on the topic of Master P again. As a long time dancer, I am appalled at all aspects of this man's (and I use that term loosely) behaviour. He had 3 weeks when he stepped in for his son - yet only shows up for practice ONCE....and that was the day before the show was to air. Tennis shoes and a baseball cap?!? Plenty of comp. organizers would have his arse thrown out just for showing up in that gear. To say nothing of the disrespect he shows his teacher. She tries to make it EASIER on him by buying him a new pair of PROPER shoes...and he pitches a fit like a petulant, spoiled 4 year old? And she's right...

Getting this guy to do ANYTHING is like trying to pull teeth with rusty pliers and no anaesthetic. And as much as I love dance, I'D be banging my head against a brick wall in frustration too if I were in Ms. Delgrosso's shoes...and people tell me that like her, I must have the patience of a saint.

That being said...I hope young Ms. Ashly turns up her OWN attitude a notch and really starts getting assertive with her partner...if for no other reason than to prove to doubters her true capabilities.

Cheers!
