Best phone for holding text messages?
Can anyone recommend any good handsets to me that hold quite a few text messages? The phone I have at the moment only holds about 10 which is annoying. I'm quite interested in the Motorola V3, can anyone tell me roughly how many texts it holds? At the moment anything more than 10 is good

Any mobile phone that will hold a memory card is excellent for text messages because you can store as many as you like, space permitting on the card of course.
I have a Nokia 6680 with a 64Mb memory card in it (this is a very small card too in comparison with what you can get these days) and I have had 100s of texts on my phone before now. Hope this helps

My old nokia 3510 and 3510i could hold, I think it was about 200 messages (inbox, outbox, archive, templates etc.) but actually only held 10 on the sim card.

Thank you both for the information. My current phone is a Sharp GX10i so quite a few years old. So would you say that Nokia would be a better choice than Motorola.

My Nokia 6680 held 1065 before it said no more. Plus its good for saving messages. Nice interface.

Most new phones store around 200 text messages. You mentioned the Motorola V3, I have found through personal experience and through other people on the net that the V3 has a tendency to delete all texts saved on the phone when the battery is removed.

I have a Nokia 7610, which can store the messages on the MMC card. I have around 5000 on there now (I've transferred my messages from phone to phone since my 3650 in 2003). Most Symbian phones can do this.

I would say any Nokia from 3510i onwards. As others have already said, the phones with memory cards hold loads. I was checking my 3230 a couple of days ago and have messages going back to October which I'd forgotten were there.
