As much as I would like the arc to be Torchwood, it's a little bit obvious if RTD tells us about it in the commentary - he kept BAD WOLF resolution until the last episode.

But 'Bad Wolf' was fairly obviously the series 1 word pretty quickly. I don't think they pretended it wasn't.
And remember, knowing which word is the 'bad wolf' isn't the same as knowing what it is.
It's not going to be 'Torchwood'.
We know what it is, that RTD said that it will be mentioned a lot....so where's there any mystery and speculation?

Think Torchwood is going to be a theme of the next series..out of necessity in order to promote the spin off..but like you there is going to be something else to send us all into a frenzy in the same way Bad Wolf did. Never thought of Queen..interesting thought there AM. Darkness is a strong contender..I like the idea of it spilling out into the universe enveloping everything in it's wake.
I still don't think we are done with the Time War but that is just my opinion.

Is it possible (thinking aloud as usual!) that RTD wanted to keep Torchwood (the series) as a surprise for as long as possible and was going to drop veiled hints throughout the new series of Doctor Who. I'm with Stuart62 for once on this - RTD definitely said it was an anagram.

I think it will be Torchwood - out of necessity, just like the BG says
.Just because we know the keyword, doesn't mean we know how it will fit in. Just like we worked out the 'Bad Wolf' references beginning from episode two in the last series. We still didn't know how it would intertwine with the final episode - but I'm sure I don't need to remind you of that.
I also think there will be something else running through this series - the Darkness, the Timewar -possibly either/both/neither - I guess we will have to wait and see.

Hi BG,...I edited the original post to credit the two posters who I saw first mention the 'Queen' theory.
I just added to the theory with 'Guinevere' (also a Queen), and the idea that The Cybermen may have a Queen.
