Galiant Effort Nizlopi - Hard Lines
Sorry you guys never got to / stayed at no.1 for christmas but for an unheard of band to get to no.1 and still be at no.2 in the christmas week is excellent, i think i speak for most when i say this, PLEASE dont just dissapear into obscurity you can do it, you belong in 1st place.

It'll be interesting to see who'll disappear into obscurity first...Shayne Ward or Nizlopi?
I predict Nizlopi will have a moderately successful career on the music circuit and will have a loyal cult following thanks to The JCB Song but no more genuine hit singles. I predict Shayne Ward despite attempts to mould him into 'the British Justin Timberlake' will falter embarrassingly when the real thing decides to come back with a second solo album (Shayne should do better than Steve Brookstein. I don't think Shayne will be doing pub gigs for disinterested housewives....yet). Maybe Shayne will get a few top ten hits and maybe even a number one album but I doubt even at the stuttering stage that Will Young is in his career that Shayne will outlast the original Pop Idol. |

Who actually bought Shaynes cd.... I don't know of anyone. Is it because of download sales? Maybe. Whatever way, it just goes to show that we, the british public, are being brainwashed by the media into buying all this manufactured 'reality show' pop. While some of it may be credible, a lot of it is just pure money making trash.
No disrespect to Shayne but he could probably do better all round than maybe (IMO) just be a one hit wonder then disappear into obscurity. |

i also forgot to say in my opening post that to be perfectly honest, despite nizlopi getting to number one, i think nizlopi got something which is more valuable than any number 1, the nations hearts, really the jcb song struck a chord with many many people and that "capturing the hearts of millions" will sell Nizlopi the world over, because as fa as I believe all thier album are like this and can be related to something in your life perhaps wheree or indeed why they titled the album " Halfthese songs are about you".
Shayne Ward will dissapear into obscuroty like all the other saps that believe these crap programs can get them a life long career, well im sorry but you have to be in it for a long time i.e with your own or a member of a band and be established, you cant walk in the door and be a musician with a glittery career from now till your 90, wont happen, ok perhaps saying 90 is a bit over the top but you get my meaning, Nizlopi and the JCB song has opened the hearts of people that have never heard of this band befre and instantly taken a liking to this track which just takes your mind back to the simpler things in life when all you had to woory about was having to take a bath and if you got your clothes dirty, to a time when your imagination ran wild and you had silly childish fantasies where you started to imagine that you werent in a Ford Cortina ( ok im an 80's child ) but you were in say a rocket ship. I could go on and on about how this song is beautiful to listen to and how I can relate to almost every part but I wont for this is getting to be about the longest post i reckon i have ever made. In summary JCB song in my opinion shouldve got the number 1 spot because the charts are over ran by manafactured crap, Nizlopi are new fresh and original. WELL DONE NIZLOPI, YOU HAVE WON MY AFFECTION OVER, GOOD LUCK FOR THE FUTURE. |

i have an amusing story about the nizlopi single. me and my sis bought it for my dad for xmas thinking it would be nice cos he used to drive us round the farm in his when we were little. i was chatting to hima few days ago about what might be xmas no1 when he said, "i can't stand that bloody jcb song!".
ah well, it's mine now. i hope nizlopi will have a good career. need to hear the album first though to decide whether or not they're a one hit wonder. as for shayne ward, don't get me wrong, i'm no fan but it wouldn't surprise if he has a pretty successful career, though will young is the only other reality show winner to really take off. |

Well until the charts were announced Nizlopi were number one, so as far as I am concerned, until the new number one was announced, Nizlopi were at the top of the charts for nearly 19 hours on Christmas day
