Ok, several people have asked about this, but can anyone discern what was whispered as the remnants of the vortex left the Doctor's lips?

I've been trying for ages to work it out but can't hear it all.

So far, I got "You will PAY for your (word and sentence I couldn't hear.) These are ours."

It's 4.07 minutes into the episode if anyone else is watching with wmp.

Can anyone else determine the missing words? All help gratefully received.

perhaps these wisps will be this series' Bad Wolf? Where clues are slowly built up until the finale where all is revealed?

I think it might be a clue to something in series two. Remember when the Face of Boe mentioned Bad Wolf? It was a comment that was partially drowned out by background noise - so much so, that many people missed it first time round.

This was as far back as episode two - and look how important it turned out to be with regards to the overall story-arc for series one.

perhaps it was deliberately drowned out....here we go again...

The problem I had was that the background music - excellent though I thought it was - drowned out a whole sentence, as far as I could tell.

I know there's speculation about resurrecting the Master (at some point) and when we last saw him, he WAS being sucked into the 'heart of the Tardis'.....

So has anybody managed to ascertain what was whispered?

Have viewed that scene several times now and the music..quite deliberately if you ask me...drowns out the dialogue. Another Face of Boe situation methinks!

Whatever it is, I agree that something definately belongs to them
Interesting that we're going to meet the Face of Boe again...will have to watch that scene over and over again....

If anyone does make out what the voices are saying please let the rest of us know!

After the past couple of hours, I might be able to lend MI5 a hand.

Ok, I've done some technical jiggery-pokery and have managed to work out that the whispering is as follows:

"You will pay, for your chances. These are ours."

Believe it or not, that took a couple of hours with a video editing suite. I was able to extract the soundbite - and wanted to remove the background music but unfortunately the source I was working with was only two-channel stereo.

Anyway, I have extracted the audio clip (which ended up as a 2 meg .WAV file for 11 seconds of audio) and pasted it on the web for you to listen to yourselves.

Unfortunately, due to filesize restrictions, I had to convert it to .WMA so the quality isn't quite as good as the extracted WAV. If anyone knows of a public website that will allow me to upload 2MB files I will happily post it on there for all.

So what do you think it all means? Do you think it was just connected to the Christmas Invasion or something to do with the next series?

I have the same problem as above, my clip is only two channels, so I cant effectivley seperate the background music from the speech. Im doing all sorts of wierd crap to it in a professional music edit suite but its not making much difference, the only bit thats I can make out is the end that says "These are ours", so above could be right.

I have tried uploading it several times and the site keeps timing out. Obviously, they're having problems with their website so I'll give it another go later.

I'm more inclined to think it will be something to do with the second series, BG.

Whatever it is, it might be a consequence of the Doctor absorbing the vortex. Maybe someone (or several someones) hitched a lift inside the Doctor?

The Doctor has rather a lot of chances at life doesn't he? Not for him the one death and it's over. Whilst most other life forms have to seize their one opportunity and go for it.

The Sycorax seized the opportunity to strike whilst the Doctor was incapacitated. Perhaps something else did too? Perhaps there are undetected pilotfish?

Or perhaps something was warning the Doctor that all that life involves watching the pain and death of those around you?

I'm still sticking to my theory...
Just not necessarily this season - but since he's got a confirmed third series, RTD must be starting to think that far ahead at least surely?
