Daewoo DUB2850
Normally I don't bother with the January sales...
....except for televisions! On boxing day 1999 I picked up a Bush 6690D IDTV from Courts. The TV was £450 reduced to £299 or £199 if you had/took out an ONdigital subscription. So my horrible old 14" square was replaced. It was the very first IDTV to hit the market at the time, although by the sales other models from Sony and Grundig were available. For digital it simply had a Nokia 9850T inside with some software modifications to make it compatible with the rest of the set. But this morning I went in to Currys and noticed the Daewoo DUB2850 on sale for £299, looked like a good bit of kit, had previously seen it online for a bit more, and went for it right there. Got to the till, to find out that it was actually £199! Terrific. Over my old Bush it has a flat screen, an extra SCART, better WS switching, 8 day EPG, S-Video, SPDIF sound output and quicker digital text (yes I was one of the few to get the old Bush text software). I did think about an LCD but I have no need to save space, so paying a few hundred extra makes no sense for me. Freeview is unlikely to go HDTV for a long time, if ever, so I think I made the right choice, for now! It also seems to use Merry Christmas! |

i got this tv yesterday and im very impressed!
Bangers- have you had any problems with yours? now if only freeview had a thing where you can rearrange the channels in your order (like ntl) then it would be perfect! |
