Doctor Who Christmas Invasion DVD Cover

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a print-out DVD cover for CIN05/Children In Need in the style of the seperate DVDs? It won't be perfect - a bit rough and obviously tacked together a bit, but for those who have them through DVD recorders or TiVo or Sky+ or whatever jiggyery pokery you guys do and no illegal business here because that's bad, maybe for the collection?

And, if anyone does, what about Attack of the Graske? You might have recorded yerself playing through it, and if people want I could make a version with text about that on.

Oh no, not that forum. I hate it - tried to sign up so many times, never got responce emails (they were emails to my own domain so they were allowed) and it's so tedius to sign up. x.x

Half finished preview:

Yea, tons of Volume 4 stuff still there.

Oooh, nice. I do wonder though, why all DVD covers are original designs or old series and not new series...
Wait, I know. REEAAALLY complicated. :P

Because there's a high resolution template available for the classic series on one of the sites?

Because it then fits in with the classic releases?

Because people like the normal ones?

I don't particulary like the normal design but there are some on my website http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/doctorwho...s/dvdcover.htm

I'll do a Christmas Invasion one at some stage, not sure in what style though.

Yeah ok there are those reasons. :P
Maybe it's just because I'm a new watcher with only the new series seperates ones, but I like the new ones.
Well, I hate the new series ones now because of their complicated backgrounds.

Huh, must be some time limit on editing posts, so I'm gonna have to double post. Sorry about that.

LOL loving the digital spy forums quote - did anyone actually say that ?

Yes, I found it in the thread. Apart from the fact it was the best quote I found, it's a nice nod to the board here.

That's a really great effort - for both covers, Jonathan.

I really do hope that people only use it for their home collection and not to sell bootleg copies of the episode.

Yeah, that's a problem - I'd watermark it, but that'd ruin it for home collections. Could put a small line on the box saying "This is a fanmade design" in the subtitles/language/ratio explaining bit.

The grungey font used on official releases is called "Deviant Strain". I don't know where to get it though.

You are my hero. I've been hacking together with another font, which, had annoying spaces. Just before I was going to try and print a version, so lucky.
Edit: Yaypayfont. If anyone has the font, drop me a line. If it's illegal and all to share it, and you'd be willing to redo the text, I have my layered file of the box thing.

Well there's always This Site or This Site for some different designs.

Great cover designs Love the Digital Spy quote and The Attack Of The Graske bit. Moi has a sense of deja vu. The god awful cover on the Region 1 version of the film Serenity dvd box. Lots of fans designed far superior ones than the official one for that as well.
