i've seen various people comment that they have copied recorded programs from the PVR to PC using the USB connection.

i hooked it up last night but all i was able to do was copy mp3/photos onto it.

what do i need to do to be able to get the recorded files on to the PC ?

it would appear that my box shipped with v1 of the software.
i downloaded v2.1 and now have access to the recordings.

i've copied some recordings to PC
renamed the files to .ts

they play ok PowerDVD & Mediaplayer .. but the aspect is all wrong.. ie it's not in widescreen.

also, how do i convert these so that i can burn them onto DVD / VideoCD ?

There are 2 ways to do this, the slowest but easiest is to use: HDTVtoDVD

The second, takes a little more effort, but seems to be quicker:

First of all you need to convert them using HDTVtoMPEG2 .

1. To do this, you'll need to rename the Humax file and put a .ts extension. Load up HDTVtoMPEG2, add the file.

2. Change the output type to MPEG2.

3. Tick the NONAME 0.1 box under the channel list.

4. Tick the 0x1F5 and 0x1F6 boxes under PIDs.

5. You may want to increase the max size otherwise the output files will be split up.

6. Click on process.

7. It should be fairly quick to process and you will get an MPEG2 file. Now, when I played this in MediaPlayer it didn't work, however, if you then load this into NeroVision and create a Video DVD it does work.

I have completed the process above but the final outcome is that audio is rather out of synch when i play in windows media player - is this expected and will it then be okay when i put it onto dvd?
