Anyone else underwhelmed by the HQ+ facility. That was the main reason I bought my Sony 510. The quality of recordings on the HDD is great, even down in SP. I transfer TV clips onto my PC using Ulead Movie Factory, and was hoping for something a little more impressive.

You do know HQ+ is better quality than DVD thus cannot be recorded on to DVD.

It's VBR though, so the quality for fast moving stuff it said should be better. L

They didn't mention that in the propaganda. It's supposed to be VBR, better quality on movement etc. The size of the HDD recording is greater than what's transferred to the DVD so it must be going somewhere.

It's mentioned in the manual that HQ+ is for the Hard Disk Drive only

Manuals, I always wondered what they were for.
