A Weird Voicemail...
WordLife
27-12-2005
I just had one on my phone after it has been off for a good part of the afternoon on charge. It was some woman leaving a message for some guy named Andrew and asking about a holiday. I was sat there saying "come on u stupid woman, stop wasting my time and credit with this crap" I'm on O2 and like most other UK networks (except from T-Mobile & Virgin) it costs to receive any voicemail that has been left. I did do 1471 before O2 sent me a txt informing me that i have voicemail waiting and it was a number i dont even recognise. I've had this before on other phones i've had but the last time this sort of thing happened was over a year ago. Unless it was a wrong number (could be a high possibility), it shouldn't happen as i've only had my current phone since 9th December, it was bought brand new with a brand new number and i used the SIM Card that came in the box (instead of keeping my old O2 one)... Weird

At first i thought it was my parents as they've been out all day and still are now... But how wrong was i?

It sounds like a wrong number to me mate. You mentioned in your post that you have to pay to listen to voice mail, so why not switch it off? (dial short code 1760 from your O2 mobile) unless there is a reason you need it on.

Well yes.. it clearly was. You could easily have just pressed 3 at the point you realised it was a wrong number, and message deleted, problem sorted.

O2 voicemail costs a flat rate of 10p.

T-Mobile pay as you go now charge 10p per minute even to set up voicemail on 222!

I have loads of these messages! They were from some woman, she sounded pissed out of her head and I couldn't understand a word she was saying.

I have had a few of these voicemails in my time, learn the number which you press to delete a message and just press it before the message finishes.
