02 MMS Help Needed
I had a Motorola V620 phone for Christmas, I must add it's certaintly a step up from my old Nokia 3410.
Heres my problem: I am having trouble sending picture and video messages directly to other phones. I downloaded the MMS settings from the HelloMoto website and it works great now, however when the person receives the MMS message they cant download it directly onto their phone, instead they have to go onto their own operator's website to get the file/s. Can somebody tell me why this is? I am using 02 PAYG. Thanks. |

That sounds as if the person you are sending it to doesn't have MMS correctly set up on their phone. Tell them to check with their network. edit: Make sure your MMS settings are fine - just found the following which explains how to do it manually: Quote:
Head into WebAccess > Web Sessions.
Use middle menu button to create a new web session with the following settings - Name: o2 MMS, Homepage: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8080, Gateway IP 1: 193.113.200.195, Port 1: 9201, Service Type 2: WAP, Speed (Bps) 1: 9600, Line Type 1: ISDN, GPRS APN: wap.o2.co.uk, Username o2wap, Password: password Go into your text message inbox. Use the middle menu button to enter Message Setup. Go into MMS Message Setup and change the Server Info to "o2 MMS" or whatever you called your new web session from above. |

If they are getting the direction to the website it will be because the network decided their phone couldn't open the message this will be for one of three reasons:
1)the file you sent is incompatible with their phone, eg picture too large, video to a non video phone) 2)the file you sent has been scrambled by copyright protection(commonly happens to ringtones) or the most likely: 3)They have not got MMS provisioned on their account so the network thinks they don't have an MMS capable account. The easiest way to tes tMMS is to send a message from your phone to your own number and see what happens. If it works, the problem is almost certianly at their end, if it doesn't it'll be at yours. |
