The marketing blurb for this machine says it starts up within one second. But my machine takes far longer than that before "READ" disappears from the display and it's ready to record.

I'm using DVD-RW media. Is this why? Is it a facility only available with DVD-RAM discs, perhaps?

Any ideas gratefully received, as it's a pain when dubbing using EXT LINK.

quickstart only works with ram discs.

Thanks, I was afraid that was the problem. Better buy some RAM disks, I suppose...........
