Hi,I bought my daughter a nano for crimbo and by yesterday both earphones have blown.Surely they should be good enough to withstand the highest volume available?

Two questions....

Can I take them back to the shop without them saying that it has been played too loud, therefore being our fault

and

Does anybody have any recomendations for other better quality earphones.

Thanks.

My son's Nano had an ear phone problem over xmas, one started being quieter that the other one. This is a known problem if you read the Apple web site. Anyway, logged an on line call for it on Monday, stating what had happened and Apple sent a new set straight out, got them on Wednesday morning.

Unless it states in the manual not to listen to it too loud due to damage to the headphones then I think the store would have little to argue as it certainly wouldnt seem as if they were fit for purpose.

I dont know where the problem exists - ie is it a dodge set of headphones that apple have bought or is it a case of their being a fault with the unit itself. The headphones with the ipod arent that great and to be honest, if it was just a fault with the headphones then I would be tempted to buy a replacement set (and maybe still get the originals replaced under warrenty so that you have a spare set). For about £30 you can get a significant improvement in sound and still get white headphones

Note to all - you've probably heard this before, but using the white Apple earbuds is a bad idea when out of your house, because you are much more likely to get mugged for your iPod! Black earbuds are much safer!

I can't find the volume control for my Ipod Nano. Its way too quiet for my deaf ears. I have to listen via itunes player instead.

When it is playing, use the wheel to adjust the volume.
