Hi im looking for this song. It comes on an advert, cant remeber what the advert is advertising . Anyway, in this advert a guy hugs this woman, on the beach or something like that, the modern version of Sugar pie honey bunch (originally by i think Temptations) is played in the back ground. Can anyone please tell me who sang the modern version?

PS. It goes something like this - "Sugar... honey honey honey...You are my candy girl...."

Thanks

The Archies reached #1 with it in 1969.
Was also covered by Duke Baysee in 1994, reached #30.

Hey everyone. Ive tried both verion and they're not the one im looking for. If you do hear it on an advert, usually on the CH4 channels or abc1, and it rings a bell. Please give me a PM.

The two versions above are the only ones I have heard of. Maybe someone is due to re-release it soon?

Try searching google for it, that may bring something up.

Unfortunately, aaa123, the description you gave is somewhat misleading. My suggestion would be to check out the following site:

It's in the Colgate advert and I suspect it might be a comissioned track and thus not available at all. ie. Someone singing Sugar Sugar just for the advert

I think there was also another hit version, in the early 70's, from a band called Saccharine. This was Jonathan King, under a pseudonym.

The only reference I can find to the Colgate ad is Altered Images singing 'I could be Happy 'in 1999

The Holsten Pils advert in 1999 also featured The Archies singing Sugar Sugar.

I can't find any reference to Sugar Sugar by any other singer or advert it featured in.
