MP3 Player Defrag?
I have recently got a Packard Bell AudioKey 515mb MP3 player. Is it ok to defrag it using the Windows XP version, also is it ok to format the device using the same method as if you were formating a floppy Disk.
Any views on this player would make intresting viewing. Thanks

flash players have a finite write lifespan and quicker anyway to simply delete everything and copy back.
No moving parts in flash anyway so minimal/zero benefit from defragmentation. Formatting is always safer via the device itself. It all depends on how it formats and which formats it recognises. I do know that my old mp3 player SD device was tempermental |

I do know that my old mp3 player SD device was tempermental I left the pen in the USB port whilst reinstalling windows. Instead of reformatting the C: drive I formatted the USB and tried to partition it (accidently). That pen drive never worked again and I lost everything on it as well. |
