Apologies for being an idiot but can some one help me out - Ive read the manual inside out and still cant suss out the problem

I have tv with sky digital box. Until now had no video etc connected. Have bought sony RDRGX210 and have tried to set up:

DVD plays great
Can get terrestial channels ok through the auto setup
Have linked up scart leads as per manual to/from tv and sky box

BUT HOW DO I get the DVD to tune into sky? I cant see how to record from sky. DVD looks ok but the manual is written by Ikea and Habitat!

If you've connected SKY to AV2 on the 210 then select LINE 3 using the "AV input" button on the remote. This should show you the SKY picture.
HOWEVER be aware the 210 only 'loops through' an RGB picture when switched on. In standby the picture is all fuzzy.

Can you record from SKY on the line 3 to the hard drive on your dvd recorder?

Or seeing as I have sky plus would it be easier to record with sky plus and copy it to the hard drive of the dvd recorder?
