Hello, I am after a bit of advice.

I had a phone extension from the main line to another room by way of a 30 meter cable.
In the past week the phone line stopped working. When BT came they said it was the extension causing the problem, and he simply cut the lead.
This left me with a problem, in that I have sky multiroom booked and need an active phone line in the room where the extension previously worked, but now the line is dead.

I know the cheapest way round the problem would be to get a new extension lead, but that would be a hassle in taking carpets up.
I have been looking at the OneForAll wireless phone extensions, but dont know if these will work with Sky.
I have also looked at cordless phones. Do the bases units have sockets for phone lines to go into so I would be able to connect the Sky Box?

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Steve.

The Sky Engineer should be able to install an extension socket from the master socket for you - the last time I saw them do this they just secured the extension cable along the top of the skirting board.

If the engineer has to fit an extension cable, will it be done to my specifications?

The extension I need wiil be around 30 meters, and has to go down stairs. Will the engineer sort this out themself or will they ask me where I want it to go, and where to attatch it to the wall.

Just asking because I could always install an extension myself.

I would suggest that you think about doing this work by yourself.

at www.screwfix.co.uk item 11039-80 is the LJU at you will require for your extension & the cable (2pr) is item 18134-80. If, howver, your extension is <10 meters from your Master LJU then a complete kit item 19843-80 for <£4 seems quite a good deal.

Decided to get an extension cable. 30 meter just covered it. Not as difficult as i thought it was going to be, hiding it under carpets.

Thanks for all your help chaps.
