i think phil heared johnny phone to have dennis killed,and so he took the cctv tape,then phil killed dennis so as he could have johnny stitched up good and propper, after all,johnny told sharron to be out of walford by new years eve or dennis would be killed and phil knew by telling dennis about johnnys threats to sharron he would give johnny a hammering and would still be in the square on new years eve so the finger would be pointed at johnny for sure.
phil wants johnny out of his way no matter how he gets rid of him.
plus johnny winding phil up about ben in last episode didnt help ,he humilliated phil and phil was about to do johnny in until peggy called phil.
i just think the whole thing has been to do with phil and his mission for revenge on johnny,plus he had a score to settle with dennis for being stitched up with the robbery.
maybe he thought he would kill 2 birds with one stone???
and as for phil getting all the blame, what about squeel beale?, if he hadnt have stopped sharron and dennis cab they would have been out of there in one piece.
so....i think phil has just covered his back,as he knows sharron is bound to say about the threats from johnny,the police will check johnnys phone,see a call was made to have dennis bumped off and johnny and his henchman will get the blame. no one will even know it was phil as the evidence on johnnys phone will be nothing to do with phil as far as anyone is concerned.
plus by taking the cctv tape,no one will ever know that dennis knew anything about the threat johnny made to sharron...just all one big stitch up...lol

Only thing I found a bit unbelievable, if indeed it is the storyline , was how Johnny Allan in his given state, managed to get hold of his mobile off the floor, let alone make a call & get 'the job' done so quickly

If phil really wanted to get johnny surely all he'd have to do is hand in the CCTV tape? Judging by the quality on johnnys previous recordings surely they'll be able to make out him ordering the kill??? Yeah dennis would be known as johnnys attacker but the guys dead now so it would make no odds. That tape coupled with his phone records would see him go down for a long time.

The twist on monday will be when we find out the only call johnny made that night was 999...

Yes, that would make perfect sense of it to me as Johnny would have arranged the killing of Dennis well before yesterday, given orders for someone to bump him off if he was still around after midnight.
