Okay i don't think Minty killed him.
I really want to know who it was.
I hope it's someone that will shock us.

I thought he just meant that they'd finally got together and found happiness.

What he meant by "we made it" was that he and Sharon had made their own 'little star', i.e. the baby... that was why they had that scene with Sonia and Chloe just before, and it kept up the theme which had been started when he was talking to Phil at the start of the episode.

Or at least that's what I thought.

This has probably been addressed before on this thread or others but there are one or two aspects to this Dennis-Johnny feud I don't understand.
Why did Dennis keep interfering when Johnny tried to have a go at Jules, and why did Johnny see that as reason enough to kill him? I know Dennis had pissed him off weeks earlier by siding with the Mitchells when they came along but even combined with stopping Johnny picking on Jules, I still don't see enough reason for Johnny to have Dennis bumped off. I missed a few episodes recently so maybe someone knows something else Dennis did that really broke the last straw. I understand Johnny killing Andy Hunter as he was asking for trouble stealing his money but Im not so sure Dennis did enough to justify becoming his latest victim.

The way I see it, because the scriptwriters wanted to write out Dennis permanently but not Sharon...

We don't know for definite that it was Johnny who had Dennis killed yet, do we?

When Johnny and Dennis were fighting in the office there was broken glass everywhere. I thought that some of this glass had got lodged in Dennis' clothing and then when he hugged Chloe it was pushed into his body. He's already in pain from the fight, thinks nothing of it, and the time it takes to kill him is the time taken to walk out of the Fowlers' and to the pub.

I was distracted throughout the episode so probably completely wrong but it seemed a more interesting plot twist than yet another gangland killing.

Where's the mystery. Johnny says Dennis is dead if he is still in the square after midnight.

At the bells, Dennis is in the square and gets dead.

Do we need Columbo for this one ? It wasn't Phil or any of the main characters as they would be recognisable. It was merely some of Johnny's henchmen who had been given instructions earlier to take Dennis out after midnight.

It didn't matter Johnny was beaten up, he had already given his instructions.

There is an outside chance that Phil is behind it. Dennis does Johnny and is then bumped off himself by paid hitmen, leaving Phil as last man standing. This is possible but it would be a huge risk for Phil for no real gain.

True.
But we've been led to assuume it's him.
