According to DS, the 2nd series will be shown starting June. Up against Bullseye on ANT&DECTV though. That'll be a hard one.

I hope it starts earlier than June . Now if Jim Bowen was hosting Bullseye with the original set then I would be interested. No doubt shITV will have celebs intsead of real contestants.

I seriously doubt it'll be as late as that. I wouldn't judge anything in that report to be anywhere near "gospel".

It says "reportedly" - but no source is given.

I agree, Jim - I wouldn't take that article as gospel either.

It seems factually incorrect too. I'm sure Bullseye got 18m viewers at it's height. (Just one of those odd, random facts that seem to surface when you least expect it. )

As much as I like Ant and Dec....

Don't ITV have any other presenters? Ant and Dec seem to host every show ITV have lately. I'm expecting Coronation Street to be hosted by the pair next

Seeing as June is really Summer, and Doctor Who returns in the Spring (by the BBC's own admission), I seriously doubt that. Perhaps the June reference is only when A&D will be up against the final few episodes?

Doctor Who is scheduled to return in the Spring and as June is in the summer I strongly suspect it will be the last few episodes that will most probably be up against Bullseye. Is ITV getting desperate or something?

Anyway, didn't The Doctor beat that duo (at least once) when they did Saturday Takeaway?

You must be picking up on those telepathic thoughts I am sending out.

I doubt that will happen. The summer is traditionally a dumping ground for shows that few people want to watch as people start to go outside and take holidays. Doctor Who has become one of the BBC's flagship shows and regardless of competition a summer slot would harm the ratings that the first series attracted - let's not forget that The Parting of the Ways aired in June and as I recall on one of the first propper hot days and didn't do as well as expected. If they start in June the series will conclude sometime in August and who knows what will become of the ratings.

I think someone must have got mixed up - isn't June round about when David Tennant said they'll be starting to film series three?

Yes, Parting of the Ways was hit by the warm weather - it still got a great audience share though.

If it was a June return it would be interupted by the World Cup too often. I think they'll want it to be finished by then.

June is not the spring. Its midsummer. So I very much doubt it will start then.

Doctor Who features in the Winter/Spring schedule as issued by the Beeb so it will most probably start again in March.

There is no evidence as yet to suggest that it is going to start later this time around but as we all know, like trains, schedules are subject to change. I am still banking on it stating in March again.

I think the SHITV have run out of ideas! I suppose the ITV have Ant & Dec and the BBC have Johnathan ross, Channel four have davina macall

PS. I like the idea for SHitv!

June 21st is the first day of summer...

http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0907866.html

Everyone seems to think that Winter starts at the end of October, where it actually usually starts the week before Christmas.

However, that's not to say that the TV companies adopt a different schedule for there seasons.

Hope that helps
