Got home last night, turned on the ITEM LIST but nothing was there, even the stuff that was there before. It showed that 8GB of the disc had been used.

All came back when I unplugged the recorder and let it reset itself up.

Is this common? The machine has only been out of the box 2 days.

I assume you mean TITLE LIST

1. are you sure you were looking at the right title list, blue light HDD or orange light DVD. Its easy to have lots on the HDD switch to DVD and see nothing. Its also possible to get confused beyween 'play list' & 'title list' (when no play list has been created)

2. If its not the above then as I have never seen this and I have has mine a while and used it a lot, I would suspect its faulty.

Thought that it might be on DVD but it wasn't. Defo on HDD and showed that 152 gig was available out of 160.

Will have to see if it happens again.

I have momentarily panicked when in the PLAY LIST instead of ORIGINAL TITLE, and what I wanted wasn't to be found.

You do get used to it though, I hope this was all that happened for you.
