Hi people.Just had an email from o2 regarding upgrading my mobile.Just finishing my second year with o2 online.
I phoned them up at 2 p.m. today saturday.
How can i help the woman said.I said you emailed me,about my upgrade. What are you looking at she said.I asked what was available.A nokia 6030.
I said no thanks,im after the N70.She then said thats a exspensive upgrade £230.I then said your joking, the tariff im on 50 anytime xnetwork minutes and 500 texts. Its only £19 a month. But if your a new customer its only £69.99 deposit i said. She went away pretending to talk to her boss, sorry we cant help you.I f you cancel your contract and come back as a new customer we may be able to help.
I told them to stick it.
P.S.
On orange the nokia n70 is £39.99 deposit. And the 6680 is nil deposit.
With 100 anytime xnetwork minutes and 500 texts, but another £6 a month more is it worth going to orange.

I would try again and speak to someone else. I upgraded in November and was told that o2's policy is to now offer existing customers the same offers as new ones.

If no joy ask to speak to cancellations..... they will try to keep you in contract and offer you a few deals

good luck

Definitely try that route. I was paying £25/mth. I phoned up to cancel, and they offered me what I had minus 100 minutes for £10/mth.

I wanted to cancel due to the recent installation of my landline, and was going to change to an O2 Online Payg sim, where I would be paying £10/mth just to keep the free texts!

You chose an LG U880 over a Nokia N70 or Nokia 6680? You crazy?

Its not a case of just choosing.Cant stand orange.
O2 dropped the deposit for the n70 to £160.
If you join o2 as a new customer you can have an n70 for £49.99 in their wonderful sale.Im not crazy its the principle.2 years with o2 never had trouble with paying my bills.Im on a limited budget deposit wise.
I know also that lg phones have had rough ride, but i have read a lot of reviews on the lg u880.They have sorted a lot of the problems out.
Anyway i have a 14 day returns guarantee if im not happy.

It's my upgrade time of the year as well and just rang O2 up, im currently on the 18.99 tarriff online 50, tried getting the N70 for £49.99 but no joy they wanted £99.99 for it!

Anyway I wasnt that bothered tbh as I like the D500 i've got at the minute so told em i'd think about it and ring back, anyway I thought stuff it ill ring the cancelations department and see what they had to offer whats the worst that could happen? Ended up getting the Online 200 package for £15 quid and a free phone only a nokia 3230 but tbh I only wanted the N70 for sat nav and if I dont like it ill just carry on using the D500.

Thought I did quite well tbh.
