Corrie - lacking that spark
Not sure if its just me but Corrie has lost a certain spark.
The writing is still the best on TV but something seems different. When I watched the Baldwin Family album they flashed back to a previous New Year episode where Linda had her way with Mikes son and I remembered how exciting it was back then and continued to be so for the years following. It just seems a bit disjointed at the moment, as if its feeling a bit tired and needs a good dose of something. I'm just not sure what that something is. |

Its at a transition phase Polly, going from one producer to another. So it will be quite quiet at the moment. Give it a few months and it will pick up.

I read something similar yesterday in one of the newspapers!.
Don't ask me which one as I was on my 3rd glass of sherry by then.

I agree with you Polly. It's gone down in quality and is, like you said, lacking that spark.
Let's hope it get's better soon! |

It'll get better though. It can't be on a high all the time same as EE isn't. I guess that at least is true to life, peaks and troughs and all that.

I think it needs more true love storylines. They seem to grip people! I know alot of people who only watched EE for the sharon/dennis storyline. Corrie doesnt have any couples for viewers to care about. I think the Frankie/Jamie storyline could help bring back some spark.

It lies on one certain reason, theres nthing major happening only storylines building up so it would be boring espicially when we know whats going to happen, for others this period of storyline building is exciting but for the peiople who read spoilers it is not. We now whats going to happen and then the repercussions after that. Theres no spark because heres no mystery of characters that are playing off each other, for entertainment value. |

Ok didnt understand a word of that lol!! But In my opinion the couples in it have no chemistry between them. So back on topic for corrie to get that spark back I think it needs more couples with chemistry that we will actually want to watch.

The thing it should do is go back to three episodes a week, but it will never happen.

I thought they were axing the second monday episode. But I've heared nothing more about it. Jim Shelley said Corrie was turning in to EastEnders, with Carol and the alchoalism, and Ronnie and the gangsters. We all know what the missing spark is.... KAREN MCDONALD!!!!!!! |

It's definately picking up again but it's still patchy sometimes, I'd prefer it if they got rid of the Battersby-Browns but that's never going to happen, still atleast they were bearable last night which I think was partly down to Danny and Leanne who aren't OTT like they are being there as when it's just them on their own they're painfully OTT.

It's tedious, with storylines that go nowhere. Plausibly, Frankie would have kicked Carol out by now, someone would have given Tracy a black eye for sheer unbearableness and Cilla would have been charged years ago for child neglect - but because it's "Corrie" -it just goes on and on and on and on.

It was the best TV in ages with Sally and Kevin finding out about Rosie.
I love Corrie! But it was only a few weeks ago I stopped watching because it got boring - why don't the rest of you do the same if you aren't enjoying it rather than sitting at your computers moaning? |
