O2 Mms
i went to send an MMS today to a mate and it said "Failed" so i immediately knew what the problem was, my MMS isn't set up on my account. so i looked through the O2 books that came in the box with my phone (which will be a month old on the 9th Jan.) and it said text PICON to 21400. i did that and it replied saying "FROM O2: Your request for MMS will be processed within the next 48 hours..." my question is why does it take that long and now i have to wait before i can send it

Everything like that with O2 takes up to 48 hours, you buy a bolt on, up to 48hrs, you want to get all those free texts that came with your top up - wait up to 48 hours. Personally I think it's 'cos they have someones gran locked in a cupboard 9AM to 5PM manually processing these things.

thx for the link but because the phone was bought brand new on O2 last month, it already has the necessary settings (O2 Active works problem free)

Have you restarted/switched your phone off and back on? Back when I was on O2 that generally helped get data services working...

is there a MMS size limit on O2? the message was 82KB, maybe that is the problem.

What phone do you have and i can post you the manual settings (as your always best double checking). Apparently 800 people last month tried sending MMS through an address that had an 0 in rather than an O (o).
The hard limit is 100kb. Have you added anything at all to your account, or made any changes as sometimes in rare occasions this can knock MMS off. If your WAP is working fine, it shows the GPRS is fine. Thus your issues are 1 or more of the following 1: MMS Settings incorrect 2: MMS not correctly provisioned on your account at o2's end 3: Handset Fault (very unlikely) 4: Sim Fault |
