8 x Verbatum DVD-R

I have been the proud owner of a Pio 720 for 8 months now, using verbatim 4X DVD-RW discs (& JVC1-8X DVD-R), and I am pleased to say I have never had a disc fail.

I notice Verbatim have now released an 8X DVD-RW disc - do you know if this will work with my Pio 720 ?

I have the 420 and the 8x discs work fine.
I have found though, that the -RW 4x discs that these recorders use won't work on my laptop. They won't even play on the laptop, let alone record

Anyone got any recommendations for discs and more importantly ones to avoid as I don't want to get stuck with a stack of discs I can't play on other machines ie. PC and Yamaha portable DVD.

There's some Ritek x8 -R's on CD-R Media at the moment for the same price as x4's. Anyone tried x8 in the Pioneer?
